Kongsberg Maritime is seeking a skilled and experienced Automation & Electrical engineer to join our Control, Power & Auxiliary systems team within the Thruster systems business unit. As a member of our team, you will play a crucial role in developing and maintaining advanced electrical systems. By collaborating closely with internal colleagues and interacting with external customers, classification societies, and suppliers, you will contribute to enhancing our system solutions. Your expertise will ensure optimal performance and reliability for the thruster steering and control system.

ResponsibilitiesCreate, maintain and develop control system design and documentationDevelop, test and troubleshoot PLC systemsIntegrate hardware and software components to create cohesive solutionsConduct thorough testing and verification to ensure performance and safety requirements are met.
Support customers and internal stakeholdersSupport and take lead in complex problem solvingQualificationsA minimum of bachelor’s degree in the field of Electrical, Software or Automation engineeringExperience in development, design and maintenance of electrical and automation systemsExperience in CoDesys and PLC programmingExperience with configuration of variable speed drivesExperience with fieldbus and industrial ethernet communication protocols i. e.
CanOpen and ProfinetExperience in EPlan or other Ecad tool is considered as an advantagePrevious experience in maritime business is considered as an advantageStrong communication skills in English are requiredYou are able toWork independently and collaborate well with othersCombine practical and analytical skills to work with both hardware and software.
