Job Description

McKenzie Healthcare is looking for an experienced and compassionate Clinical Manager to join our leadership team in Geraldine. This is a key role providing clinical and operational leadership across our aged care services. At McKenzie Healthcare, we believe every resident has the right to receive quality care in a safe, warm and respectful environment. As Clinical Manager, you will be responsible for supporting our staff, working closely with the General Manager and leading the delivery of person-centred care. You will provide clinical oversight and leadership, ensuring high standards, safety, and continuous improvement are maintained across all areas of care.

About the roleThis position will suit someone who is passionate about aged care and is confident in leading clinical teams in a dynamic environment. Key responsibilities include:

Providing high-level clinical leadership and support to nurses and care staffOverseeing the implementation of clinical best practice and care planning standardsPromoting a culture of safety, quality and ongoing improvementLeading clinical reviews, audits and quality assurance programmesSupporting residents and their families through transitions in careEnsuring regular multidisciplinary team reviews and collaborationManaging staffing levels, clinical rosters and resources to meet care needsPromoting infection prevention and ensuring health and safety complianceSupporting learning and development across the clinical teamCollaborating with external health agencies and maintaining strong professional networksWhat we’re looking forTo be successful in this role, you will need:

A current New Zealand Annual Practising Certificate as a Registered NurseAt least five years of clinical nursing experience, including previous leadership rolesA sound understanding of the Health and Disability Sector Standards and aged care compliance requirementsExperience in quality systems, clinical auditing and continuous improvementThe ability to work collaboratively and lead multidisciplinary teamsStrong communication skills and a person-centred approach to leadershipConfidence in managing staff performance, delegation and directionKnowledge of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and how to apply its principles in careComputer literacy, particularly with Microsoft Office and clinical software systemsWhy join usMcKenzie Healthcare is a respected aged care provider in South Canterbury, offering rest home, dementia, hospital and palliative care.
