'Another great bloke lost' - Ricky Hatton's son pays tribute to Mani

Ricky Hatton's son Campbell has paid a heart-breaking tribute to his late dad's friend Mani, following his death aged 63 . The Stone Roses and Primal Scream bass player was last pictured in public attending the former world champion boxer's funeral at Manchester Cathedral in October. Campbell, also a former professional boxer, wrote on Instagram: "Another great bloke lost . Somebody I’ve looked up to since I’ve even known what music is and been lucky enough to spend time with. To many goodens lost these days. RIP Mani." Following Mani's death tributes flooded from across the music world. Sharing a picture of his long-time friend on X, Noel Gallagher wrote on X: "RIP Brother. It was a pleasure to have known you." His brother and fellow Oasis star Liam, who was pictured alongside Mani at Hatton's funera l, wrote: "In total shock and absolutely devastated on hearing the news about Mani, MY HERO, RIPD RKID LG." Mani, originally from Crumpsall in Manchester, joined The Stone Roses in the 1980s and played on both the band's seminal, self-titled debut album and its long-awaited follow-up Second Coming. When the Roses disbanded in 1996 he joined Primal Scream. In 2011, he announced that he had left Bobby Gillespie and co to reform the Stone Roses. His death was announced almost two years to the day his wife Imelda died of cancer , aged 52. The couple shared twin boys, Gene and George, 12.
