Related: Manchester United v Paris Saint-Germain: Women’s Champions League – live 7.40pm GMT A reminder then: Arsenal were 2-0 up at half-time, having dismantled Bayern with their high press. But the visitors completely lost their way in the second, backing off as Bayern turned the volume up with their substitutes: Alara Sehitler and Pernille Harder both came off the bench to fire in. Klara Bühl, brilliant on the left, then racked up her third assist, with Glodis Perla Viggosdottir slotting in the winner. The hosts went more direct in the second 45 and it worked a treat. 7.36pm GMT FULL-TIME: Bayern Munich 3-2 Arsenal That’s some comeback. 7.36pm GMT 90+3 min: Smith beats two red shirts before firing in a low shot from the right; Grohs parries but, unlike the first half, there’s no Arsenal shirt to capitalise. 7.34pm GMT 90+2 min: Stanway dispossesses Caldentey in midfield before launching ambitiously from a fair distance. It’s well wide. 7.33pm GMT 90 min: The subs have worked a treat for Bayern. Three minutes are added on. 7.32pm GMT 89 min: Game of two halves and all; this has been a remarkable match. Updated at 8.02pm GMT 7.31pm GMT The move begins with a corner, the ball finding Bühl out on the left. She’s inside the D as she puts her left foot through it, the ball dipping late to drop into the top right corner. Van Domselaar doesn’t bother moving. Updated at 8.03pm GMT 7.23pm GMT GOAL! Bayern are buzzing forward now. Updated at 7.15pm GMT 7.13pm GMT 70 min: Arsenal have really stepped off in this half, perhaps just a natural response after the shift they put in during the first. 7.12pm GMT It’s an excellent counter from Bayern, with Bühl dancing down the left. She lays it across goal for the sub Alara, who thunders forward into space and very calmly slots it low past Van Domselaar. Updated at 7.15pm GMT 7.10pm GMT GOAL! Mead’s low cross from the right doesn’t bring any danger. 6.58pm GMT 55 min: Russo is very much on the hunt; she forces Grohs to make a fine save to her left after a piledriver from range. 6.57pm GMT 54 min: Foord tries to find McCabe on the overlap, but the former doesn’t put enough power on the ball. 6.56pm GMT 53 min: Arsenal work it nicely from left to right, the move ending with Russo swinging her foot from just outside the area; she miscues, a lack of power helping Grohs collect. 6.54pm GMT 50 min: It’s now Arsenal who are camped in their own half as Stanway dinks a lovely ball out to the right, with Gwinn whipping in a cross. The visitors must resist now; a hyped-up Dallmann takes down Mead on the edge of the Bayern area. Arsenal kick-off after gathering for a huddle. Both sides are unchanged … 6.39pm GMT The gameplan has been delivered with no hiccups: Arsenal have pressed high and not allowed Bayern any flow, with the hosts dominating possession but simply too slow when moving it. Mariona Caldentey has been a key part of that press and she walloped in that second goal, too. The interplay between Beth Mead, Stina Blackstenius and Alessia Russo has been delightful. 6.33pm GMT HALF-TIME: Bayern Munich 0-2 Arsenal There’s no added time. The goal was pretty tidy, too. 6.26pm GMT 40 min: Tanikawa wins the ball in midfield … but here’s Bayern’s problem again: rather than ping it forward, she turns back towards her goal and the hosts must build once again from the back. They need to be a little more direct here. 6.25pm GMT 39 min: The ball pings through Bayern’s midfield before Foord, cutting in from the left, shoots wide. 6.24pm GMT 38 min: Bayern break away from Arsenal’s high press … but they’re still a touch too slow at moving it around and are forced to retreat to their centre-backs. 6.22pm GMT 36 min: Fox and Mead play a nice one-two on the right before Caldentey dinks a hopeful ball into the area. 6.20pm GMT 34 min: Schüller makes a key header to deny Russo from glancing in at the far post for Arsenal’s third. 6.19pm GMT 32 min: Magical from Caldentey, turning inside-out to break away from Bayern’s pressure in midfield. She shifts wonderfully on to her right before blasting the ball in from the edge of the 18-yard box. 6.10pm GMT GOAL! Bayern Munich 0-2 Arsenal (Caldentey 23) Moments after Blackstenius hits the bar, Caldentey adds to Bayern’s misery. Updated at 6.20pm GMT 6.09pm GMT 20 min: Better from the German side, with Bühl jinking away on the left before finding Schüller, who strikes from the D … the effort doesn’t cause Van Domselaar much bother. 6.06pm GMT 19 min: Damnjanovic has been Bayern’s brightest spark so far, and she wins a free-kick by the halfway line after some tidy hold-up play. 6.04pm GMT 18 min: Arsenal are enjoying Bayern’s aversion to going long from the back. 6.03pm GMT 17 min: Russo shows strength to hold off two players and keep the move going forward, finding Caldentey from range: she lets fly from around 25 yards, but it’s a comfortable grab for Grohs. Updated at 6.07pm GMT 6.02pm GMT 15 min: Here come Bayern, with Damnjanovic driving through the middle before trying to slip in Bühl to her left inside the 18-yard box … blue shirts get in the way. 6.00pm GMT 14 min: The game remains confined to Arsenal’s attacking third. 5.59pm GMT 13 min: One corner leads to another, and then another. Mead whips it to the front post, but it’s cleared all the way to Berlin. 5.58pm GMT 11 min: Arsenal excel with their press again, Mead high up on the right to disrupt her England teammate Stanway. It leads to a half-chance and an Arsenal corner … 5.56pm GMT 9 min: Caldentey rushes forward into the No 10 region as Arsenal work hard off the ball, with Bayern looking a touch lost as they try and wheel it around the back. Arsenal look organised and confident. 5.54pm GMT 8 min: Blackstenius leads the Arsenal press as the visitors keep Bayern trapped in their own half. 5.53pm GMT GOAL! Bayern Munich 0-1 Arsenal (Fox 5) The champions are quick off the mark. McCabe whips a cross from the left – it’s cleared away before Mead strikes from inside the area. Arsenal’s results are on the up, three consecutive victories followed by Alessia Russo’s late equaliser against Chelsea on Saturday. Even if they weren’t at their best in Lisbon last month, they got the three points. Arsenal visited Bayern in last season’s Champions League, with Pernille Harder’s quickfire hat-trick delivering a 5-2 win for the hosts 13 months ago. But that kickstarted a glorious run, with Arsenal winning their remaining five group-stage games. They arrive in Munich this time round as European champions. Bayern enter this fixture unbeaten in the Frauen-Bundesliga this season but also with a 7-1 defeat by Barcelona. They’ll search for a statement win; Arsenal will look to parade their continental pedigree. Kick-off’s at 5.45pm GMT.
