BBC Strictly Come Dancing star announces split from Emmerdale actress girlfriend

Pop sensation HRVY has revealed he's flying solo following his split from Emmerdale actress Mimi Slinger. The 26 year old crooner, who made it to the Strictly Come Dancing final in 2020 alongside pro dancer Janette Manrara, has called time on his romance with the former soap star. Mimi portrayed Leanna Cavanagh on the ITV drama for four years before her character met a grisly end in 2021. HRVY, whose real name is Harvey Leigh Cantwell, appears to have confirmed the breakup via TikTok in typical cryptic fashion. The brief video shows the star looking contemplative as he nods and flashes a thumbs up at the camera, with the caption: "I'm now single... I blame that Vogue article.", reports Wales Online . The piece he's referring to, titled Is Having A Boyfriend Embarrassing Now?, was published late last month and explored shifts in "the way people showcase their relationships online". Representatives for both HRVY and Mimi have been approached for comment. The pair began their relationship in 2021 after crossing paths at the National Television Awards. The singer had previously gushed about how their shared showbiz careers made things work smoothly between them. "We get to see each other all the time," he told The Sun. "It's a nice balance and because we're both in the industry we both understand, so it's easy." HRVY burst onto the scene with his debut track, Thank You, back in 2013 when he was just 14 years old. Following this, he supported big names such as Little Mix and Conor Maynard, while also appearing on a variety of CBBC shows like Friday Download and Chicken Girls. In 2020, he took to the dance floor on BBC's Strictly with Janette, making it all the way to the final and securing second place, just behind winners Oti Mabuse and Bill Bailey. He was the last celebrity partner for Janette before she left the show to present the Strictly spin-off programme, It Takes Two. Actress Mimi, aged 22, joined the cast of Emmerdale as Leanna in 2018 and exited in 2021. Since then, she has appeared in a short film titled Path to Ecstasy and featured in an episode of Masters Of The Air. Her time on Emmerdale saw her character involved in a tumultuous relationship with Jacob Gallagher (played by Joe-Warren Plant) and clashing with Gabby Thomas (Rosie Bentham).
