"The Commissionerate Police-Bhubaneswar on Sunday detained five persons in connection with the bomb attack that recently shook places near Kendriya Vidyalaya-3 (KV-3) in the Odisha Capital.Advertisment Also Read: Bhubaneswar KV-3 bombing: No breakthrough even after 24 hours Mancheswar Police are interrogating the suspects based on CCTV footage and information provided by some residents.Advertisment The police team is being assisted in the probe by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) and the Railway Protection Force (RPF). The blast occurred on Friday (November 28) morning near Gadakana locality, at a time when President Droupadi Murmu was on her Odisha visit and was present in the State Capital. With most major Indian cities already on high alert following the recent New Delhi explosion, the Bhubaneswar case was treated with heightened seriousness. The NIA has intensified its investigation, while a scientific team carried out an intensive on-site examination. Gunpowder, metal spikes, shattered glass and other materials were then recovered from the scene. Residents alleged that inadequate patrolling in the locality has led to an increase in anti-social activities. They also claimed that the presence of intoxicated individuals around the school has been rising, raising fresh concerns about student safety. Worth mentioning, some unidentified bike-borne miscreants hurled a crude bomb at Gadakana locality near the Kendriya Vidyalaya-3 at around 8.00 AM. The fatal incident occurred near Gate No. 3 of the school. The timing raised serious concerns, as around 1,000 to 1,500 students enter through Gate No. 3 between 7.30 AM and 7.45 AM in a day. Fortunately, the spot was deserted at the time of the explosion."
