Celebrity Traitors star says son 'cried' over shock exit and shares unseen detail

Celebrity Traitors star Tom Daley has revealed his son broke down in tears when he was 'murdered' on the BBC show. The Olympic diving legend was one of the Faithfuls on the current series of the gripping TV show , which is hosted by Claudia Winkleman. But he became one of the early victims of Traitors Alan Carr, Jonathan Ross and Cat Burns, getting killed off swiftly after they decided he was going to be tough to outwit in the competititon. Tom has two sons with his husband Dustin Lance Black - Robbie, who was born in 2018, and Phoenix, who was born in 2023. And speaking on The One Show on Tuesday (October 28), he admitted that his Celebrity Traitors exit had his eldest son in tears. "I've been watching it with my husband and my oldest son," he said. "And what was really sad was when, like, I got, you know, murdered, he was like, he started crying 'Oh, my papa.' "And I was like, 'Robbie, I'm here, you're fine.' And then he was like, 'OK, because I wanted you to win. And he's like, I hate the Traitors.'" Tom also shared: "Well, you know, I did want to be a Traitor." During his time in the castle Tom made news when he was spotted giving fellow contestant Kate Garraway some serious side-eye over the way she reacted to Paloma Faith's murder. Good Morning Britain star Kate declared she was "flabbergasted" and Tom thought it was slightly over the top, fuelling his suspicious that she was actually a Traitor. His eye roll got people talking, but the star insisted that he had no idea that it would become such a big thing. "I didn't even realise that I was doing that much of a side eye," he said. Tom went on: "I didn't even realise that it was going to be a thing because I was in LA and then I was getting all these texts of like, 'That side eye', 'That...' I was like, 'What side eye?' "And then before I knew it, I was like, 'OK, I guess flabbergasted and the side eye is a thing'." Celebrity Traitors airs on BBC One.
