Credit quality fears start to rattle investors’ confidence in bank shares

Fears over potential losses lurking in the books of US regional banks dragged global financial stocks sharply lower yesterday. The sell-off extended as far as Ireland where Bank of Ireland shares plunged more than 5pc.
