Gtext to heavily diversify business in next growth phase, says Founder

Stephen Akintayo, founder and chairman, Gtext Holdings, has said that the real estate company would heavily diversify its business portfolio in the next phase of growth trajectory. “The next 10 years we are heavily diversifying. Our agric business is, you know, hoping the next 10 years to be one of the largest sellers of rice across Africa,” Akintayo said at the recent Gtext Homes and Gtext Lands 10th anniversary celebration tagged, ‘The road to 2030: Real estate trends that will shape the next decade.’ Akintayo disclosed that the business will diversify more into retail in the next 10 years by developing facilities like malls, schools, hospitals, to service its estates across 30 locations in Nigeria. According to him, the business was heavily involved in land acquisition in the last 10 years, because of the strategic role land plays in real estate development. Akintayo also disclosed that Gtext Homes will resume physical development of its estates as part of a strategic growth plan. “We also are going now into housing; we paused the housing because of what has been going on. “So we’re hoping that in the next 10 years, we should have 25,000 houses in Africa that have been built by us,” Akintayo said. Bukola Lukan, the group chief operating officer (GCOO) Gtext Holdings, said Gtext Land and Gtext Homes is not just marking a milestone in years but celebrating a decade of vision, excellence, integrity, and growth. “As we celebrate this 10-year journey, we also look ahead — to the next decade of innovation, sustainable growth, and continued impact in the real estate industry. Together, we will build not just houses but homes, communities, and legacies,” she said. Lukan also took time out to appreciate clients, partners, and investors. “To our clients, thank you for trusting us with your dreams. To our partners and investors, thank you for believing in our vision. “And to our dedicated team, past and present — you are the heart of this success story. Your commitment, creativity, and hard work built the foundation we proudly stand on today,” Lukan said.

State Department warns Hamas may violate ceasefire with attack on Palestinian civilians

The U.S. Department of State on Saturday warned there are "credible reports" that Hamas may break the peace agreement with a "planned attack" on Palestinian civilians. "This planned attack against Palestinian civilians would constitute a direct and grave violation of the ceasefire agreement and undermine the significant progress achieved through mediation efforts," the department said in a statement on social media. "The guarantors demand Hamas uphold its obligations under the ceasefire terms." The statement concluded, "The United States and the other guarantors remain resolute in our commitment to ensuring the safety of civilians, maintaining calm on the ground, and advancing peace and prosperity for the people of Gaza and the region as a whole." A ceasefire between Israel and Hamas went into effect last weekend after two years of war in the region following the Oct. 7, 2023, attacks in southern Israel.
