Dulquer Salmaan Shares Unseen Moments With Kaantha Gang
The much-anticipated Tamil-language period thriller Kaantha opened theatres on November 14, amid a lot of buzz. Selvamani Selvaraj directed the film, which stars Dulquer Salmaan, Samuthirakani, Bhagyashri Borse. The film was received quite well by the audience and is a hit at the box office run. In the latest, Dulquer Salmaan shared a few pictures from the promotion days of Kaantha and expressed how he missed his team.
The pictures were taken on the tarmac. Dulquer Salmaan was seen posing with Samuthirakani and Rana Daggubati in front of the aircraft. In another picture, they were seen inside the airport bus. The last picture featured only Dulquer Salmaan looking out of the aircraft.
Kaantha- Cast and Storyline
Set in 1950s Madras, Kaantha explores the stormy relationship between rising film star T. K. Mahadevan (Dulquer Salmaan) and his mentor Ayya (Samuthirakani), a filmmaker whose mentorship finally leads to confrontation.
Bhagyashri Borse plays Kumari, Mahadevan’s love interest, while Rana Daggubati portrays Inspector Devaraj, also known as “Phoenix,” a vital role in a strange crime that develops among clashing egos and mounting ambition.
Kaantha Faced Legal Trouble?
Kaantha, directed by Selvamani Selvaraj, has Dulquer Salmaan and Rana Daggubati on board, with Wayfarer Films and Spirit Media producing.
While early conjecture suggested that Kaantha was a biopic of M.K. Thyagaraja Bhagavatar, Dulquer Salmaan and Rana Daggubati have confirmed that the film is entirely fictional. The film had been heavily criticised for reportedly relying on the life of famed Tamil actor and musician M. K. Thyagaraja Bhagavathar (MKT), sparking issues over artistic freedom, defamation, and filmmakers’ duties.
The film was originally scheduled for a September release, but was moved back to allow the successful theatrical run of Lokah: Chapter 1 – Chandra, which Dulquer also produced and became the highest-grossing Malayalam film of all time.
