Dynamite Kiss episodes 5-6 recap: Ji-hyeok stresses over Da-rim’s fake husband, leading to a passionate turning point

Episodes 5 and 4 of the South Korean rom-com Dynamite Kiss aired on SBS TV on November 26 and 27, 2025. The series is directed by Kim Jae-hyun and written by Ha Yoon-ah and Tae Kyung-min, with Jang Ki-yong and Ahn Eun-jin leading the cast.The drama centers on Ko Da-rim, a woman who pretends to be a mother as a means of survival, and Kong Ji-hyeok, a team leader known for his precision and restraint. Ji-hyeok pays off the entire amount on the spot. When he sees blood on Da-rim’s wrist where they tied her, his anger spikes. He warns the loan sharks that if they ever come after her again he will “buy all their organs”.The next day, Da-rim expresses her gratitude to Ji-hyeok and insists she will repay every penny by installments. But Ji-hyeok twists this into saying that until she pays him back, he owns every one of her organs and therefore has “rights” over her. As they clean and weed the garden, the team brings up the diaper mishap from their live broadcast. They ask if she has ever taken care of a real baby.Da-rim panics internally, afraid her secret that that she is lying to be a mother will be exposed. But the team jokes that her husband must be the one who handles baby duties, which is why she doesn’t know how to put on a diaper making her sigh with relief.Later, Da-rim talks with another mother visiting the park, who buys baby products from an eco-conscious company that plants trees for every purchase. The mother explains that she wants her child to grow up in a greener world. This resonates deeply with Da-rim, especially after learning the story behind Ji-hyeok’s tree.Inspired, Da-rim shares the idea with Ji-hyeok. Ji-hyeok realizes the concept reflects his mother’s values too. It sparks a larger vision for their upcoming project in him and becomes his chance to outshine his older sister in the company hierarchy.Yoo Ha-yeong, a wealthy heiress and family friend, is someone Ji-hyeok’s father wants him to marry for business reasons. Ha-yeong meets him through her art gallery and is immediately struck by his looks. She tries to collaborate with him professionally since he works as a photographer, but her parents reject the proposal, deeming him “not worthy” of exhibiting.Despite this, Ha-yeong can’t get him out of her mind. As she pursues him, she meets Seon-u's six-year-old child and becomes even more drawn to him. She also learns he is divorced and raising his child alone.When Ji-hyeok later asks Ha-yeong to recommend a photographer for the new project, she instantly suggests Seon-u. To get closer to him, she requests to be part of the project herself, ensuring she’ll be around Seon-u the whole time.Hearing Seon-u will be joining their team terrifies Da-rim on the other hand, thinking her lie will be exposed. But Seon-u reassures her that he will act like the perfect, doting husband to strengthen her image and protect her secret. True to his word, he plays the loving spouse at the office.But everything gets complicated when Ha-yeong walks in, surprising Seon-u. When Ha-yeong hears Seon-u is supposedly Da-rim’s husband, she is shocked. Pulling her aside Seon-u begs her not to reveal that he is actually a single father. Ha-yeong agrees, but in return asks he to take photos of her to spend time with him. Seon-u and Da-rim act like a real married couple all day, which makes Ji-hyeok and Ha-yeong jealous. Afterward, during a team dinner, Da-rim gets tipsy and steps outside to clear her head. Seon-u follows her and Ha-yeong follows him.Seon-u and Ha-yeong walk together outside and mid-conversation, she kisses him and confesses her feelings. At that moment, Ji-hyeok, who has also come out searching for Da-rim, sees the kiss. Believing Seon-u is Da-rim’s husband, he is horrified thinking Seon-u is cheating on her.At this point, Da-rim, still drunk, arrives behind him and asks what he’s doing. Panicking, Ji-hyeok spins her away to stop her from seeing the scene and takes her away from there.Meanwhile, as Ha-yeong confesses Seon-u gently rejects her, admitting he likes Da-rim. Ha-yeong is hurt but asks him if his feelings are real, why he hasn’t confessed. He explains he has never confessed because he doesn’t want to ruin their friendship.Later that night, Ji-hyeok and Da-rim share a moment, reminiscing about Jeju Island. Later, Seon-u, motivated by Ha-yeong’s question, gathers the courage to confess his feelings to Da-rim. But Da-rim misunderstandsnhim and thinking he likes Ha-yeong, she urges him to pursue her.The next day, Ji-hyeok is overwhelmed by what he thinks he witnessed as Da-rim being cheated on. He debates whether to tell her. Instead, he confronts Ha-yeong, accusing her of destroying a family. Ha-yeong is frustrated as she cannot reveal that Seon-u isn’t married.Later, Ji-hyeok’s father approves their eco-themed project. The team celebrates with a company dinner where Da-rim gets extremely drunk. After everyone leaves, only Ji-hyeok is left with her.In her drunken haze, Da-rim confesses that Ji-hyeok’s acts of kindness like, paying her debt, feeding her good food, bringing her porridge when she is sick, are making her swayed. She believes he is only doing these things because they’re teammates, but it makes her feel emotions she shouldn’t. Before Ji-hyeok can respond, she passes out.The next day, the team continues the project. Da-rim stays back after hours to finish her work. Ji-hyeok checks on her progress and gives her guidance. Suddenly, Da-rim clutches her stomach in pain and collapses from stress and exhaustion.Ji-hyeok panics and carries her to the hospital quickly. There, watching over her, Ji-hyeok fully realizes how much he cares for her. When Seon-u’s calls her on her phone, Ji-hyeok remembers the kiss he has witnessed and becomes determined. He decides that he wants to protect Da-rim and he doesn’t want anyone else near her.
