The former NASCAR Cup Series champion Kevin Harvick is regarded as one of the greatest drivers of all time, and his 13-year-old son, Keelan, is ready to make his jump at one of the most prestigious Late Model events of the year—the Thanksgiving Classic. He has a strong passion for racing, much like his father.Keelan will make his first Late Model Stock Car race start at the Thanksgiving Classic at Southern National Motorsports Park on Sunday, November 30. As he steps up from a Legend Car to a 250-lap Late Model Stock race, his focus is on gaining experience rather than chasing results. In a recent interview, he revealed that his main goal is to run all the laps and learn as much as possible.Speaking about his approach ahead of his Late Model Stock Car debut at the prestigious Thanksgiving Classic, Kevin Harvick’s son said (via the Wilson Times):“I’ve only competed in a Legend Car at the Thanksgiving Classic, so I’m excited to come back in a Late Model Stock for the first time. My goal is to complete all the laps and learn as much as I can.”Keelan is coming off the Thanksgiving Classic after securing a top-5 finish in the South Carolina 400 at Florence Motor Speedway last weekend. For many young racers, the jump to Late Model Stock competition is one of the defining steps in their career progression, and Keelan has already begun absorbing those lessons, particularly during his experience at Florence.Speaking about what he learned there, the 13-year-old driver added:“The main thing I learned at Florence in the Late Model Stock was how to save my tires. I know tire management will be important in the Thanksgiving Classic.”Kevin Harvick’s son reflects on his top-five South Carolina 400 outingAt Florence, Kevin Harvick’s son made his Late Model debut from second position and survived the chaos to secure a well-deserved P5, rebounding after being involved in a mid-race incident.Reflecting on his P5 South Carolina finish in a post-race interview with Matt Weaver, here’s what Keelan said:“Yeah, there’s definitely a lot of stuff that happened in that race. Just can’t thank the KHI (Kevin Harvick Incorporated) guys enough. They brought me a really fast car. Sorry to them that I damaged it a bit, but came out here with a top-5,”Kevin Harvick’s son has earned multiple wins in a Pro Late Model this year and has also won here at Southern National in a Legend Car.
