GOB's Car Czar: Sundown Shutdown For GOB Vehicles On Friday's posted (November 7, 2025) EmailThis weekend you can expect to see fewer blue plates on the highways and streets. And that's because the Asset and Utilities Management Unit is shutting off all non essential government rides at 7:00 pm tonight. Government's car czar Ashton Longsworth tells us that this is the first phase, where the 50 or so vehicles assigned to 6 ministries and departments will be remotely shut down at 7:00 pm tonight. Only vehicles specifically authorized for weekend use by the accounting officer will be operational. Longsworth says that they will add new ministries and departments weekly, eventually effecting a government wide shutdown of all non essential vehicles every Friday night at 7:00.
