Rev Morgan-Adorsu reminds Christians of Jesus’ second coming

By Iddi Yire, GNA Tema (GAR), Nov 09, GNA – The Tema District Pastor of the Great Commission Church International (GCCI), Reverend Paul Morgan-Adorsu, has reminded Christians of the eminent second coming of Jesus Christ, urging them to prepare adequately for it. The Second Coming is the Christian belief that Jesus Christ will to the earth after his ascension to heaven over thousand years ago. The idea is based on messianic prophecies and is part of most Christian eschatologies. Rev Morgan-Adorsu said recent events happening across the globe such as wars and threats of wars, natural disasters like earthquake and hurricanes, the increase in the number of false prophets and teachers, and wickedness among mankind were all pointing to the return of Jesus Christ. He gave the advice in his homily at the GCCI Tema District Joint Service held at GCCI Maranatha Assembly in Tema West, to climax the Church’s 40-days fasting and prayers. The service on the theme “Breaking the Barriers to Chrislikeness, Discipleship and Church Planting in GCCI”, was attended by congregants from nine branches of the Church in the Tema District, namely Maranatha Assembly, Grace Temple, City of Refuge Temple, Mount Zion Temple, Faith Temple, Tema Newtown Assembly, Prampram Assembly, Kubekrom Cell Group and Mexico City Cell Group. Rev Morgan-Adorsu urged Christians to keep themselves holy for Christ’s second coming, reiterating that Jesus Christ was coming for a Church without blemish. Quoting from the Bible, Rev Morgan-Adorsu said: “Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. Therefore, do not be foolish but understand what the Lord’s will is. Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit.” The Rev Minister advised Christians to endure in finishing their spiritual race well, citing from the Bible “he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved”. He further reminded Christians that as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. Kenneth Odeng Adade
