PWHL Takeover Tour returns: 16 games across Canada and U.S.

The Professional Women’s Hockey League (PWHL) announced Monday (Nov. 11) its 16 “Takeover Tour” games for the 2025- 2026 season. “This season’s 16 games will be contested in 11 different locations spanning the United States and Canada,” noted a PWHL news release. “The PWHL will visit seven new cities, including Calgary, Chicago, Dallas, Halifax, Hamilton, Washington, D.C. and Winnipeg, and will return to Denver, Detroit, Edmonton and Québec City.” The Vancouver Goldeneyes will play five Takeover Tour games this season. The Goldeneyes will play the Minnesota Frost on Dec. 27 in Edmonton, Alta.; on Jan. 3, 2026, in Detroit, MI, against the Boston Fleet; on Jan. 11 in Quebec City against Montreal Victoire; on Jan. 25 in Denver, CO, against Seattle Torren; and in Edmonton, Alta. again on April 4 against the Boston Fleet. Over 19,000 fans attended the Jan. 8 Takeover Tour game at Rogers Arena. “Season Two’s PWHL Takeover Tour™ was the first of its kind, giving fans across North America the chance to experience the excitement of a regular-season game in their home venues,” said Amy Scheer, PWHL executive vice-president of business operations. “The passion and support from fans, and the enthusiasm from cities eager to engage with our league, have fuelled our ambition to grow the Tour for Season 3.” Presale tickets for the PWHL Takeover Tour are available Thursday (Nov. 13) and general sale on Friday (Nov. 14) at 10 a.m. (local time in host markets) at thepwhl.com/tickets. The Vancouver Goldeneyes is set to drop the puck Nov. 21 against PWHL Seattle for its inaugural season, playing out of the Pacific Coliseum and utilizing the PNE Agrodome as its practice facility. The Vancouver Goldeneyes will play five Takeover Tour games this season.

The Goldeneyes will play the Minnesota Frost on Dec. 27 in Edmonton, Alta.; on Jan. 3, 2026, in Detroit, MI, against the Boston Fleet; on Jan. 11 in Quebec City against Montreal Victoire; on Jan. 25 in Denver, CO, against Seattle Torren; and in Edmonton, Alta. again on April 4 against the Boston Fleet.

During last season, 123,601 fans attended Takeover Tour games, which sparked “new fan engagement,” the PWHL said.

Over 19,000 fans attended the Jan. 8 Takeover Tour game at Rogers Arena.
