Sachin Pilgaonkar Reveals Satish Shah Underwent Kidney Transplant In 2025, Wanted To Extend His Life For Wife Madhu

Satish Shah was known for his iconic roles on Sarabhai vs Sarabhai, Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro, Yeh Jo Hai Zindagi, Main Hoon Na, Kal Ho Naa Ho, and many more Bollywood projects. He died of kidney failure in Mumbai on October 25. Sachin Pilgaonkar, who has worked with the veteran and is a longtime friend of the couple, shared in a new interview that the actor had undergone a kidney transplant earlier this year. Satish Shah had kidney transplant before his death Sachin Pilgaonkar shared that before his death, Satish Shah had undergone a kidney transplant and even a bypass surgery to extend his life for his wife, Madhu, who is battling Alzheimer's. Sachin and his wife, Supriya Pilgaonkar, have been good friends for a long time. In an interview with News18, Sachin said, "Satish and Madhu have always been extremely warm and lovable. We saw to it that we invited them to the premieres of all our films. They used to come for the screenings and the parties. They were always there in our list of guests and invitees. We couldn’t celebrate anything without them. And now, I’m wondering how we can celebrate events without him." He also revealed, "Unfortunately, even Madhu isn’t well. She has Alzheimer’s. This year, Satish got his kidney transplanted. He wanted to extend his life so that he could take care of Madhu. He was on dialysis. Earlier, he underwent a bypass surgery, which was successful. Supriya went to visit Satish and Madhu just three days ago. I couldn’t go because I was shooting. He played some music, and Supriya and Madhu danced. Madhu recalled how she would dance cha-cha-cha."
