San Diego Set to Host FIP Tournament as Padel to Expand in the United States

From Texas to California, it’s time for another CUPRA FIP Tour “Made in USA” event. After a successful campaign and a historic FIP Bronze in Austin, the international padel circuit lands in the United States once again, this time in San Diego. The city is all set to host the FIP Silver tournament, which runs through Sunday at the Padel N9NE courts. A total of 32 pairs will compete in the men’s draw, promising an action-packed schedule filled with world-class competition. Sweden’s Simon Vasquez and Spain’s Luis Oliver Artigas headline the top half of the draw, while Miguel Gonzalez and Albert Trillas will lead the bottom half. Fans can expect intense matchups as top-ranked players battle for crucial FIP World Ranking points and tour glory. Among the home favorites is Vinny Di Francesco, USA’s No. 1 player, who recently clinched victory in Austin alongside Argentina’s Octavio Alvarez. Local supporters will also keep a close watch on Nico Agritelley and the all-American duo Jose De Armas and Raul Ruiz, currently the top-ranked U.S. pair in the draw. In the women’s draw, top seeds Catarina Santos (Portugal) and Camila Ramme (Mexico) are set to lead the field. Chasing them are Manuela Schuck (Brazil) and Aitana Garcia (Spain), both eager to make a deep run. American representation remains strong, with Brittany Dubins, USA’s No. 1 female player, teaming up with Anna Cortiles. Dubins aims for her third CUPRA FIP Tour title after previous wins in Aveiro (Portugal) and Austin. Meanwhile, Marta Morga pairs with Mexico’s Renata Martinez, as they seek valuable ranking points and a shot at silverware in San Diego. With a world-class field and growing U.S. participation, the San Diego FIP Silver marks another milestone in the rapid expansion of padel across North America.
