Oct. 24 (UPI) -- Washington State Patrol troopers came to the rescue of a kitten seen wandering loose on the shoulder of a busy highway -- and they found the feline a new permanent home.
The WSP said troopers responded after multiple 911 calls came in reporting a kitten stranded at the side of Interstate 95, near 96th in Tacoma.
A body camera video shows one of the troopers getting down on the ground to reach the kitten's hiding spot under a concrete barrier.
"Aw, what a cutie," the trooper can be heard saying.
The troopers took the kitten to be examined by a veterinarian.
The WSP said the kitten now has a new home with a trooper from WSP District 1.
