(Brendan SMIALOWSKI / AFP) Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman said Tuesday during his White House meeting with US President Donald Trump that Riyadh wants to join the Abraham Accords, but calls for the need to secure a path towards a two-state solution. “We want to be part of the Abraham Accords, but we want also to be sure that [we] secure a clear path [toward a] two-state solution,” Bin Salman said in response to a question on the matter from reporters in the Oval Office, while sitting alongside Trump. Bin Salman added that he and Trump had a “healthy discussion” on the issue shortly before appearing before reporters. “We’re going to work on that to be sure that we can prepare [for] the right situation as soon as possible,” Bin Salman says, referring to a pathway to a two-state solution. Trump interjected, saying, “I don’t want to use the word commitment, but we’ve had a very good talk on the Abraham Accords. We talked about one state and two-state [solution].” The president adds that the pair will be discussing the matter further as well, insisting that Bin Salman has “a very good feeling toward the Abraham Accords.” Get The Times of Israel's Daily Edition by email and never miss our top stories Newsletter email address By signing up, you agree to the terms “We want peace for the Israelis, we want peace for the Palestinians. We want them to coexist peacefully in the region,” Bin Salman said, avoiding an announcement or commitment on the issue. US President Donald Trump and Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman walk along the Colonnade at the White House, Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2025, in Washington. (AP Photo/Evan Vucci) The remarks were not particularly surprising, given that Saudi Arabia has long told interlocutors that it will not normalize relations with Israel absent a credible, time-bound and irreversible pathway. However, there had been some speculation that progress could be made on the issue, given that another key Saudi condition for a deal appeared to have been met when Trump succeeded in brokering a ceasefire in Gaza last month. Bin Salman is said to have told confidants that the restoration of calm in Gaza would also be needed for him to move forward with Israel, as the war has significantly soured the Saudi population’s view of Israel, leading him to feel a need to raise the significance of the Palestinian-related component of a potential normalization deal. Advertisement But if the willingness of Netanyahu and his hard-right coalition to offer the Palestinians a political horizon was limited before Hamas’s October 7 attack, that inclination has shrunk even further since. Just in the past week, Netanyahu and other members of his government have reiterated that they will not allow for the establishment of a Palestinian state under any circumstances. Netanyahu’s inner circle — as well as Trump himself — have long downplayed Riyadh’s two-state demand, thinking it can be addressed through more symbolic or rhetorical measures. Bin Salman told reporters in the Oval Office that Riyadh will “definitely help” foot the bill for the reconstruction of Gaza, highlighting his willingness to remain engaged on the Palestinian issue, regardless of whether his country immediately joins the Abraham Accords. (AP/Abdel Kareem Hana) The crown prince acknowledged that an exact figure for Saudi aid to Gaza hasn’t been decided yet, leading Trump to chime in and say, “It’ll be a lot.” In a separate remark during the Oval Office question and answer session, Trump says, “The Palestinians are doing very well… We’re working very closely with a lot of people that make everybody happy, including Israel, the Palestinians and everybody.” Advertisement Israel reportedly sought to urge the US to condition the latter’s sale of F-35 fighter jets to Saudi Arabia on Riyadh agreeing to join the Abraham Accords. But Trump is moving forward with the sale and appeared to dismiss concerns that it could harm Israel’s qualitative military edge in the region, which Congress is legally required to preserve. (AP Photo/Evan Vucci) Asked about the matter in the Oval Office, Trump said the weapons he plans to sell to Saudi Arabia will be “pretty similar” to those Washington provides to Israel. “I know [Israel would] like you to get planes of reduced caliber. I don’t think that makes you too happy,” Trump quipped to Bin Salman. “As far as I’m concerned, I think [Saudi Arabia and Israel] are both at a level where they should get top of the line,” Trump continued. “We’re going to have a deal. They’re going to purchase F-35s.” Watch DocuNation Season 3: The Heart of Israel when you join the ToI Community In this season of DocuNation, you can stream six outstanding Israeli documentaries with English subtitles and then join a live online discussion with the filmmakers. Star Copper Advancing Canada's Next Cu-Au Porphyry Discovery with Completion of Three Step-Out Holes at Star Main

Phase 2 Drill Program Extends Mineralized Corridor to the North and West, with 11 drill hole assays still pending in lab VANCOUVER, BC / ACCESS Newswire / November 17, 2025 / Star Copper Corp. (CSE:STCU)(OTCQX:STCUF)(FWB:SOP) ("Star Copper" or the "Company"), a critical minerals exploration and development company is pleased to report the completion of three Phase 2 drill holes at the Star Main target of its 100% owned and fully permitted 6,829-hectare (~16,875 acre) flagship Star Project in northwestern British Columbia's "Golden Triangle" region. To find out more, visit our website and watch our videos at https://starcopper.com/media/. Building Toward 2026, with Additional Assays PendingWith S-058 through S-060 complete, Phase 2 drilling at Star Main continues to expand the copper footprint to the north and west while sharpening vectors to the potassic core that underpins the project's larger scale potential. These holes, together with ongoing work at our satellite targets, position Star Copper to deliver a steady cadence of results and to define a data-driven 2026 program focused on step-outs and deeper testing aimed at advancing Canada's next Cu-Au porphyry discovery (see Figure 1). 11 Drill holes are still pending on the 2025 Campaign. Company CEO, Darryl Jones enthused, "For those who have been following our ongoing news, these three holes move the Star Main system forward on multiple fronts. We've extended mineralization into new panels, strengthened the link between potassic alteration and chalcopyrite at depth, and added corridors displaying significant veining density where it matters the most. With assays pending, and advancements across the entire Star Main, North, East, and Copper Creek targets, we are very excited by what we're seeing from our exploration campaigns this year. The holes were sited within the Star Main target area to extend mineralization north and west of recent collars and to tighten the geologic framework linking near-surface copper oxide mineralization with hypogene vein and dissemination-hosted chalcopyrite mineralization in potassic-altered intrusives and associated vein networks (see Figure 2) Core logging highlights include a near-surface (supergene) oxide profile in Hole S-058 transitioning to chalcopyrite-bearing D-type veining at depth. Hole S-059 shows potassic (K-feldspar) alteration with sheeted quartz-pyrite-chalcopyrite veinlets, and locally abundant quartz-chalcopyrite veining with K-feldspar vein halos are visible in Hole S-060. Table 1: Collar location of recently completed holes at Star Main Hole S-058 (Star Main - northern step)Hole S-058, drilled vertically, cut oxidized quartz monzodiorite (QMD) before transitioning into a layered volcanic sequence (plagioclase-porphyry and andesite tuffs) marked by propylitic chlorite-epidote-magnetite alteration and local vein-related potassic halos. Below ~130 m the core is densely veined by quartz-pyrite-chlorite-magnetite- chalcopyrite (D-type) veins, with chalcopyrite increasing with depth in these vein sets. This trend is consistent with the northward continuation of Star Main's hypogene system and historic mineralization to the south at S-037 (See Figure 3). Hole S-059 (Star Main - south-directed test across fault structures)Drilled to 317m, S-059 was designed to probe steep structures and intrusive contacts in the north central Star Main area above a prominent IP chargeability high. This hole intersected fractured QMD cut by discrete clay-rich faults zones that provided fluid abundant hydrothermal fluid pathways. Logging records pervasive to patchy potassic (K-feldspar) alteration, magnetite accessories, and sheeted quartz-pyrite-chalcopyrite veinlets with local stockwork development, features typical of the outer core of porphyry copper systems and aligned with the corridor tested to the south by S-056/57 (See Figure 4). Hole S-060 (Star Main - west-dipping test of vein corridors)S-060 targeted the central to eastern vein networks at Star Main and encountered well-developed K-feldspar vein halos and sheeted to stockwork quartz-chalcopyrite veining, with local sulphide-cemented breccia textures. AI firm ElevenLabs to clone voices of Caine, McConaughey

NEW YORK CITY, New York: Two Hollywood icons are lending more than just their star power to artificial intelligence. Michael Caine and Matthew McConaughey have both signed agreements with ElevenLabs, a New York-based AI voice-cloning company, granting it the right to replicate their voices using artificial intelligence. The deal marks a significant step for the startup, which has quickly become one of the most recognizable names in the AI voice synthesis space. ElevenLabs originally developed its technology to dub voices in multiple languages for films, audiobooks, and video games — all while preserving the speaker's tone, emotion, and style. Now, the tech is expanding into celebrity voice licensing. Caine, 92, said in a written statement that he sees this as a way for technology to support, not replace, the human spirit. "It's not about replacing voices; it's about amplifying them, opening doors for new storytellers everywhere," said Caine. "ElevenLabs is using innovation not to replace humanity, but to celebrate it." McConaughey, meanwhile, revealed that he's not just licensing his voice — he's also an investor in the company. Though financial details weren't disclosed, the actor said his partnership with ElevenLabs has been years in the making. He added that the deal would enable him to use his voice in different languages, including Spanish. "This deal will allow me to voice my newsletter in Spanish," McConaughey noted. Founded in 2022, ElevenLabs quickly attracted attention for its highly realistic voice synthesis — and also for the potential misuse of its technology. By January 2023, just months after its launch, the company acknowledged a rise in unethical uses of its tools, including the creation of deepfake content. In response, ElevenLabs implemented measures to curb misuse, such as limiting advanced features to paying users and requiring consent for cloning high-profile voices. However, concerns resurfaced in early 2024, when a consultant used ElevenLabs software to create a fake robocall mimicking President Joe Biden's voice and sent it to voters in New Hampshire. In the wake of that controversy, the company has further tightened its safeguards, vowing to block the cloning of celebrity or public figure voices unless proper authorization is provided. The Caine and McConaughey deals reflect a shift in the way celebrities are approaching AI — not as a threat, but as a tool they can harness on their own terms. For ElevenLabs, the partnerships also signal a growing legitimacy in an industry still grappling with ethical questions about consent, ownership, and identity in the age of synthetic media.

Ronaldo in danger of missing World Cup games after red card

(Photo credit: REUTERS/Clodagh Kilcoyne) Cristiano Ronaldo is in danger of missing at least Portugal's opening match at next year's World Cup after being showing a red card in Thursday's 2-0 loss to the Republic of Ireland. Ronaldo was initially shown a yellow card after elbowing Ireland defender Dara O'Shea during the match in Dublin. However, it was upgraded to a red card and Ronaldo was sent off for the first time in his international career after the contact was reviewed by the referee on a pitch-side video monitor. 'When he tries to get away from the defender, I think the action looks worse than what it actually is,' Portugal coach Roberto Martinez said. 'I don't think it's an elbow, I think it's a full body. But from where the camera is, it looks like an elbow. We accept it. It could be a red card but for the right reasons.' Ronaldo will serve his mandatory one-game suspension when Portugal plays host to Armenia on Sunday. Portugal, which still lead Hungary by two points in Group F, can clinch a spot in next year's World Cup with a victory. However, FIFA disciplinary rules state that a ban of at least two matches is required for 'serious foul play' and for at least three matches for 'violent conduct,' or for 'an appropriate period of time for assault, including elbowing.' Pre-World Cup exhibitions would not count towards serving a potential match ban, and it could be three weeks before FIFA issues a verdict. It is the first red card Ronaldo has received in the record 226 games he has played for Portugal. 'He is just a captain that has never been sent off before in 226 games,' Martinez said. 'I think it was a bit harsh because he cares about the team.' Ronaldo is seeking to reach his sixth World Cup. --Field Level Media

Kylian Mbappe leaves France squad due to ankle injury

(Photo credit: REUTERS/Gonzalo Fuentes) Kylian Mbappe has left his France squad and returned to Madrid to receive treatment for an ankle injury, the French Football Federation said on Friday. Mbappe, 26, scored two goals in a 4-0 win over Ukraine in Paris on Thursday to help France secure a spot in next year's World Cup. However, he has been dealing with lingering inflammation in his ankle, leading France manager Didier Deschamps and the Real Madrid medical staff to call him back to the team. Mbappe now has 400 career goals, including 55 for France -- just two shy of Olivier Giroud's all-time national schoring record. He was scheduled to undergo scans on Friday, according to ESPN, and will miss France's game in Azerbaijan on Sunday. Meanwhile, Real Madrid's next match is against Elche on Nov. 23 before traveling to Athens to play against Olympiacos on Nov. 26 in a Champions League match. Along with Mbappe, France released Eduardo Camavinga (hamstring) and Manu Kone (suspension) ahead of the team's final World Cup qualifier. --Field Level Media

Colombian leader labels Trump barbarian over Caribbean strikes

Gustavo Petro said that the US presidents actions dont help stopping drug traffickers Colombian President Gustavo Petro has denounced the US strikes on alleged cartel vessels in the Caribbean Sea as the Pentagon announced a new operation to fight drug traffickers. In an interview with NBC News, Petro did not mince words when criticizing US President Donald Trump. "He's a barbarian," Petro said in excerpts aired Thursday. "He wants to frighten us," he added. The Colombian president did not rule out that some of the vessels hit by the strikes were linked to cartels. "Maybe or maybe not. We do not know," he said, adding that, "According to due process, the civilized treatment of people, they should be seized and detained." Petro described the victims as "poor boatmen" hired by cartels. "Then when one of those missiles arrives [it] kills that boatman. It doesn't kill the drug trafficker," he said. He previously said that at least some of the victims were ordinary fishermen not involved with organized crime. The US imposed sanctions on Petro last month after Trump labeled him "a drug leader." Colombia restricted intelligence-sharing with the US this week, although Interior Minister Armando Benedetti later clarified that Bogota would continue cooperating with US federal agencies, including the Drug Enforcement Administration and the FBI. The US has hit at least 20 boats since September, killing 80 people. Secretary of War Pete Hegseth announced Thursday the launch of Operation Southern Spear against "narcoterrorists" in the region. CNN reported that, as part of the operation, Trump had been briefed on target options in Venezuela, whose leader Nicolas Maduro he accuses of helping cartels smuggle drugs into the US.

Chevron cuts capex, raises efficiency goals after Hess merger

HOUSTON, Texas: Chevron announced on November 12 that it aims to grow free cash flow by more than 10 percent annually through 2030 while expanding oil and gas production and cutting costs and capital spending. The updated guidance, unveiled at the company's investor day, marks the latest step in Chevron's push to operate more efficiently after a restructuring and layoffs earlier this year. Chevron completed its US$55 billion acquisition of Hess in July, a year later than planned, which had delayed its long-term outlook. Its shares are up 7.8 percent this year, trailing rivals Exxon Mobil and Shell. "Our advantaged assets, strong balance sheet, and disciplined capital program provide the foundation to thrive in any price environment," said Chief Financial Officer Eimear Bonner. Assuming Brent crude prices average $70 a barrel, Chevron expects both free cash flow and earnings per share to grow by more than 10 percent annually through 2030. Oil and gas output is projected to rise two percent to three percent per year from its current 4.1 million barrels of oil equivalent per day. Chevron lowered its planned annual capital spending to $18 to $21 billion, down from $19 to $22 billion, and raised its cost-cutting target to $3 to $4 billion by the end of next year, $1 billion higher than before. Bonner said upstream divestments and business simplification will yield $2 billion in savings by the end of this year, with another $1 billion expected from technology that allows remote monitoring of operations. "We're confident in increasing the range because we're already halfway there with the work that's underway," she said. Chevron also said it can fund both capital spending and dividends through 2030 even if Brent crude falls to around $50 a barrel. The company's first project to power an AI data center using natural gas will be built in West Texas and is targeted to begin operations by 2027. Chevron is in talks with potential customers, including tech companies such as OpenAI and Meta, and expects a final investment decision early next year. Chevron will also boost annual exploration spending and use AI to speed up data analysis, as exploration projects often take years to complete.

Opposition Leader Sussan Ley insists the Liberal Party’s decision to ditch Australia’s climate targets won’t affect its popularity in city seats, as progressive campaigners fundraise off the controversial move. The Coalition is expected to finalise its official climate policy in coming days, with the Liberals committed to abandoning net zero by 2050 and other interim emissions-reduction goals if they win government. Labor and Climate 200, which gives financial support to “teal” independent candidates, have already sent out fundraising emails off the back of the policy change more than two years out from the next federal election. Under the plan announced by the Liberals on Thursday, new and existing coal and gas plants would receive taxpayer subsidies. The party claims this will bring down power prices while still reducing carbon emissions over the long run. Ley said her proposal would keep Australia in the Paris climate accord, a landmark agreement which the government signed when the Coalition was last in power. The agreement prohibits countries from watering down their commitments to reduce emissions, but Ley appeared to not be concerned if her plan put Australia in breach of the deal. “If there are reasons why people in Paris or in some United Nations organisation don’t like it, I can deal with that,” she said. Asked how her new energy policy would help the Coalition win back the capital-city seats it lost to teal independents at the past two elections, Ley said power prices were a major concern for all voters. “Let’s not misunderstand what climate action is,” she said. “If people think that this government’s approach to so-called climate action is working, then they should have a really good look at it, because it’s actually not bringing emissions down.” Progressive political campaigners wasted no time in blasting out fundraising emails off the back of the policy shift. “If the Libs want to make fringe views their official policy, community independents will continue to rise and relegate them to the fringes,” Climate 200 executive director Byron Fay wrote. Energy Minister Chris Bowen accused the Liberals of abandoning action on climate change in an email subject-lined “this is what we’re up against”, with options to join Labor or donate at the bottom of the message. Former Liberal MP and moderate Fiona Martin said it was a “sad day” for the party. “Just because you don’t think you can’t reach a target doesn’t mean you abandon it. The Liberals once led for the future, today they took us backwards,” Martin said. Now the Liberals have landed on an official policy, they need to negotiate with the Nationals, who unanimously agreed to ditch net zero earlier in November. Three representatives from each party will meet in coming days to formulate a joint Coalition policy. It is expected to be rubber-stamped at a virtual meeting on Sunday.
