Ramona Shelbourne completely agrees with Giannis Antetokounmpo’s ‘very dangerous’ Milwaukee Bucks statement

Giannis Antetokounmpo ‘very dangerous’ Bucks claim It was clear last season as well, that just having Antetokounmpo at the peak of his powers wasn’t going to be enough for the Bucks to enter the crunch stages of the season again. Antetokounmpo was at his best, but his teammates struggled to find form, forcing the Greek into a high-volume, low-efficiency game that reeked of desperation. With questions swirling over his future now, it increasingly feels like a “do-or-die” season for the Bucks’ prospects of a Championship, and, by extension, their chances of holding on to their star. Antetokounmpo, aware of the fact, has hyped up his team by effectively calling the roster perfect by all standards. He said: “We’re going to be a problem. We’re going to be dangerous. We’re going to be set up in a way that is very, very dangerous. “We have a lot of shooting. We have a lot of playmakers, ball-handlers, and defenders who can switch. We have an incredible big who can space the floor and be a problem defensively. We are set up exactly how you need to set up to make a statement.” Antetokounmpo ‘setting the tone’ at Milwaukee Antetokounmpo is rightly excited by the moves the Bucks have made in the off-season, with Myles Turner a particularly interesting addition. As a three-and-D big, he’s exactly the kind of player the Bucks have had huge success with in the past when they had Brook Lopez. Turner is a better, younger, and more athletic version of Lopez, and Antetokounmpo should find plenty of joy driving down the lane with Turner spacing the court. The likes of Kevin Porter and Gary Harris provide more shooting, a necessity for a team building around Antetokounmpo, and all of this makes Ramona Shelbourne think that they could make noise. She said: “I agree with Giannis that they’re going to be a lot better than people think. I like the Myles Turner acquisition. I like everything they did in the offseason except the fact they’re probably not good enough to get out of the second round. “With that said, I like that he’s saying this because he’s speaking it into existence. He’s trying to set the tone for this team.” Bucks last won the title on the back of their tremendous outside shooting, and they have gone back to that template again. The results will only be clear with time, but if this was the last season for the Bucks to convince their superstar that they are the best place for him to realize his championship dream again.

When SC Villa was caught up in a witchcraft storm in Burundi

Vipers SC could be caught up in a witchcraft storm in Zambia later this week, but here’s what happened back in 1993 when SC Villa was caught up, left, right & center in a witchcraft or ‘Juju’ storm in an Africa Cup of Champion Clubs tie against Vital’O of Burundi in Bujumbura ‘Juju’ completely too over this African Club Cup tie. It’s no secret that witchcraft is a part and parcel of African Football. But the scenes surrounding the 1993 First Round, Africa Cup of Champion Clubs (now CAF Champions League) return leg tie between Vital’O and SC Villa at Prince Louis Rwagasore stadium in Bujumbura were crazy. One had to be present to know and appreciate what I will attempt to recount. After defeating a tough Vital’O side 1-0 in Kampala courtesy of a Sula Kato stunning goal, SC Villa decided to travel for the return leg game on the very day of the match, by a chartered flight heading straight to the stadium from Bujumbura airport. All was smooth until when we landed at Bujumbura airport. That’s when chaos and explosive scenes took over. We’re in the arrival lounge, when thousands of SC Villa fans who had travelled by road, days ahead of the team, literally took over the airport, invading the arrival hall and were adamant that we (the team) will not use the official exit area, or use the official transport arranged for us by the Burundi Football Federation and Vital’O club Management. Reason; The Vital’O people had hired the services of witch doctors to infect the arrival hall exit and the bus to transport us from the airport to the stadium with charms meant to weaken us, the players. Bitter and violent scenes ensued at the airport for over 45 mins as neither side was willing to cede their positions. Our fans would not budge on their stance, and the Vital’O side likewise. Meanwhile, time for kickoff of the match was fast approaching. Eventually we did move to the stadium, but in transport provided by our fans, who escorted us and guarded us all the way to the stadium amid wild singing and jubilations. We get to the stadium, and it was more chaos. Standing at the entrance to our ‘Away’ dressing room, was this half naked Burundi witch doctor, wearing a ‘necklace’ of chicken heads dripping with blood. He was making all sorts of gestures to us, indicating that we were ‘finished’. And a peep into our dressing room revealed blood sprinkled all over the floor and walls of the place. None of us the players would dare step into the place to dress up and be inspected for the match to kickoff. Only goalkeeper, Mike Mukasa, a ‘Born Again’ Christian, was unmoved and willing to go inside. He was urging the rest of us as in, “namwe tuyingire twambale. Ebyo bano (Vital’O) bye balikko, temuli.” Loosely translated as ‘let us get inside and dress up, what their (Vital’ O’) intentions are is nothing.’ Our fans had meanwhile managed to break through security and had invaded the dressing room area. They would not allow any player to dare step into that dressing room, and they angrily rebuked Mike Mukasa. As all this drama, chaos and delays were happening, our opponents, the Vital O players were already on the pitch ready for kickoff. With our team refusing to dress up or enter the dressing room, the match referee gave up, walked to the pitch and blew the whistle indicating the match is awarded as a walk over to the hosts, and SC Villa eliminated. Chaos and more chaos ensued after that as our officials and fans protested this decision by the referee. A decision was made to immediately appeal to CAF, as we flew back to Entebbe. CAF did order for a re-staging of this game in Bujumbura, 6 days later, with a stern warning to both sides not to repeat the ‘stupidity’ that had marred this tie earlier. With money exhausted, we travelled back to Bujumbura, by road via Tanzania. Played & lost 2-1, but progressed on the away goals rule. With goalkeeper Mike Mukasa making a crucial penalty save late in the match, which had it (penalty) been scored would’ve meant a 3-1 lead for Vital’O & elimination for the Jogoos.

Ola shares tumble after CEO Bhavish Aggarwal booked in employee suicide case

New Delhi: Shares of Bhavish Aggarwal-led Ola Electric Mobility came under heavy pressure on Tuesday during the special Muhurat Day trading session, following news that the company's top executives have been booked in connection with the suicide of an employee. Ola Electric's stock fell as much as 4.16 per cent, touching an intra-day low of Rs 52.65 per share on the National Stock Exchange (NSE). At the closing bell, the stock was at Rs 53.43, down by Rs 1.51 or 2.75 per cent. Nearly 45 million equity shares, worth Rs 24.08 crore, were exchanged on both the NSE and the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) during the session. The sharp decline in share price followed reports that Bhavish Aggarwal, the CEO and founder of Ola, along with senior executive Subrath Kumar Das, has been named in an FIR filed by Bengaluru police. The case relates to the alleged suicide of a 38-year-old employee, K Aravind, who reportedly left behind a detailed 28-page death note accusing his seniors of workplace harassment. Aravind, who worked in the company's homologation division, allegedly consumed poison at his residence on September 28. Despite being rushed to a private hospital, he did not survive. The police registered a case of abetment to suicide under Section 108 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), based on a complaint filed by Aravind's brother. The complaint also raised concerns about financial irregularities amounting to Rs 17.46 lakh and accused Ola's HR department of failing to explain suspicious money transfers to Aravind's account. A senior police officer confirmed that notices had been issued to all individuals named in the FIR and that written explanations had been submitted. The investigation is ongoing. Ola's spokesperson earlier said they were deeply saddened by Aravind's death and extended condolences to his family. The company claimed that Aravind had not raised any complaints or grievances during his 3.5-year tenure at Ola Electric, nor did he have direct contact with senior leadership, including the CEO. Ola also stated that it has challenged the FIR in the Karnataka High Court, where protective orders have been passed in favour of the company and its officials. The firm said it is fully cooperating with authorities and remains committed to ensuring a safe and respectful work environment.
