Position SummaryThe Quality Engineer is responsible for proactively improving product quality through effective planning and ensuring effective resolutions to quality issues. This role provides support for the Quality Management System (QMS) to meet industry, customer, and regulatory requirements. The position involves maintaining and improving existing procedures, developing supporting documentation, and ensuring compliance with ISO 9001, AS 9100, and Nadcap AC7108 standards.Essential Duties & Responsibilities Collect and analyze data to develop action plans for resolving discrepancies in planned vs actual performance. Conduct periodic training sessions to educate personnel on procedures, methods, equipment usage, and quality/manufacturing techniques. Lead quality improvement projects aimed at reducing scrap and rework. Collaborate with Sales, Customer Service, Production, and Customers to resolve quality issues and improve product and process quality. Assist with Advance Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Boeing PIP's, including:Developing quality plans for new products.Identifying and maintaining key part characteristics.Assessing process capability. Defining quality requirements for outsourced processes.Ensuring compliance with FAI requirements per AS9102 or customer specifications. Provide technical assistance to operations for inspection method development, tooling, and gauges. Maintain the corrective action process and ensure timely resolution of quality issues. Manage internal audit programs and perform audits in support of QMS compliance. Host customer, regulatory, and certification body audits related to QMS and NADCAP. Maintain the approved supplied list and assist with supplier ratings and scorecards. Assist the Quality Manager in preparing documentation for management review. Adheres to safety regulations. Performs other duties as assigned.Qualifications & Requirements Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline preferred; ASQ certification or relevant work experience required in lieu of an engineering degree. Minimum of 5 years of quality/manufacturing experience, preferably in an aerospace environment. Previous experience in processing, planning, and/or manufacturing is a plus. Familiarity with safety requirements in a processing or manufacturing environment. Basic knowledge of statistical process control (SPC) and Root Cause & Corrective Action (RCCA). Strong background in measurement techniques and quality inspection methods. Proficiency in interpreting specifications and engineering drawings. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with management, customers, suppliers, and shop personnel. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.Itar RequirementThis position requires access to export-controlled commodities, technical data, technology, and services.
