Abstract is looking for a competent 1st or 2nd year apprentice to work on our multifamily residential projects in the Greater Victoria/Langford area. You will work on site closely with the Site Foreman, as well as the Site Superintendent to complete a wide variety of construction related tasks. You must be able to show up on time, ready to work, 5 days a week. The ideal candidate would have their own transportation or be able to be at work for 7:00a.m. start time. Knowledge of safe work procedures is key, safety is our top priority.ResponsibilitiesProvide carpentry services (framing and finish) at an Apprentice levelRead, interpret, and work from blueprints, drawings, sketches, and other specifications on a variety of structures related to the construction projectWork with sub-trades in completing all projectsMaintain a professional relationship with clientsComplete required administrative dutiesPrepare layouts in conformance to building codes using measuring toolsUphold our brand pillars in all aspects of daily workRequirementsProven experience as a 1st or 2nd year apprentice Able to work as a teamVery good knowledge of English (spoken and written)Excellent balance and eye-hand coordinationHigh school diploma or equivalentOFA 1 or 2 would be an assetDemonstrated experience in residential framing, finishing and general carpentry, and concrete formworkIdeally holds a valid driver's license and have reliable transportation to get to our sites in the Greater Victoria areaBenefitsAbstract Developments offers an excellent Total Rewards package including competitive wage (currently $25-$32 per hour), employer paid premiums for extended health, dental, vision, and Rx coverage, additionally an employee wellness program, complimentary snacks, and a dog-friendly office.Abstract Developments is an equal opportunity employer.
