GEOSYSTEMS HELLAS S.A., a Geoinformatics company based in Pangrati (Athens), is looking for personnel to support the sales department, a talented and motivated Geospatial Software Engineer to join our dynamic team.  Geospatial Software Engineer  The Geospatial Software Engineer will specialize in developing, implementing, and maintaining technology solutions related to mapping, Earth observation, GIS, and WebGIS applications. This role combines software engineering expertise with a deep understanding of geospatial data and standards. Join our team and contribute to cutting-edge projects that have a positive impact on industries related to Earth Observation, Environmental Monitoring, Cultural Heritage, Urban Planning, Agriculture, and more.  Roles & Responsibilities:  Hexagon Software Development: Responsible for the implementation, configuration, and customization of Hexagon geospatial software solutions. Software Development: Design, develop, and maintain Hexagon applications and geospatial data processing solutions using object-oriented programming and best practices. System Integration: Integrate Hexagon software with existing enterprise systems. Technical Support & Training: Provide technical expertise to internal teams and clients, conduct software demonstrations, and train users on system capabilities. Standards & Compliance: Ensure software solutions comply with geospatial standards and common data formats. Optimization & Performance: Identify performance issues, optimize software for server-side and client-side applications, and implement improvements. Automation & Scripting: Develop scripts and tools to automate workflows, preprocess data, and simplify repetitive tasks.   Required Qualifications:   Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Geoinformatics, Software Engineering, or related technical discipline. Programming: Proven experience in object-oriented programming.  GIS Knowledge: Solid understanding of geospatial data concepts (vector/raster), coordinate systems (projections), and spatial relationships. Language Skills: Excellent command of the English language (both written and spoken) for effective technical communication. Essential Skills: Web Development: Experience with modern frontend technologies, particularly JavaScript, and understanding of browser rendering (HTML5, CSS, WebGL). Geospatial Standards & Formats: Familiarity with OGC standards (e.g., WMS, WFS) and common geospatial data formats (GeoJSON, KML). Databases: Experience working with databases, ideally with spatial extensions (e.g., PostGIS). Computer Graphics: Basic understanding of 2D/3D graphics principles and linear algebra. Tools: Proficiency with Git and familiarity with build tools.Preferred / Desirable Skills:  Real-Time Data Processing: Proven experience handling and processing real-time data using streaming technologies (WebSockets, Kafka, gRPC). Performance Optimization: Experience in performance tuning and profiling demanding applications, both on the server side and in client-side rendering (JavaScript). Architecture & DevOps: Background in system architecture design, microservices, and containerization technologies. UX/UI for Data Visualization: Experience designing user interfaces for complex data visualization and interactive mapping. Scripting & Automation: Strong command of scripting languages for automating workflows and preprocessing data. Provided: Competitive remuneration package, full time Pleasant working environment Opportunity for professional development Modern facilities, close to the metro (Line 2, red line)  Location:  Pangrati (Athens)  If you're interested in sales and science, or technology, we want to hear from you.
