The ERHPS covers the populations within the health boards of Borders, Fife, Forth Valley and Lothian.This is a new role within the ERHPS to support our surveillance and epidemiology functions. You will have the opportunity to shape the role alongside the consultant lead and will have professional links with the Public Health Intelligence analyst team in NHS Lothian’s Public Health Department.The Analyst will be a key member of our service. You will work closely with colleagues and partners across health protection including Environmental Health and Public Health Scotland. Surveillance of infectious disease and outbreaks is an essential aspect of the health protection function and is central to informing planning and priorities for the population of the east region.This is a permanent full time Agenda for Change Band 6 position. The main departmental office is currently at Canaan Park, Astley Ainslie Hospital, although the post holder will also be expected to work from our other office in Westport, Edinburgh and across the 4 regional boards offices.We are looking for people who are confident prioritising and leading programmes of work, taking responsibility for the planning, analysis, interpretation and communication of evidence-informed public health intelligence.This is an ideal opportunity for candidates who want to work in a fast paced environment and who wish to apply and develop their specialist public health intelligence skills to contribute to the priorities of surveillance and epidemiology. Candidates will have a degree plus additional specialist knowledge to SCQF Level 10 in relevant field e.g. epidemiology, research methods, information analysis, statistics and/or qualitative methodology.We cannot accept CVs as a form of application and only a completed online application form will be accepted.
