This position is responsible for the operation of an assigned area in terms of production, quality, cost, delivery, technical, safety, and human resources with defined goals. Responsible for day-to-day management of people within production, to ensure company’s targets and objectives are met to meet customer requirements, ensuring that staff comply with health, safety and standard operating procedures. Strives to continually improve using Lean tools to reduce costs, improve production and quality.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Includes, but may not be limited to the followingProduction supervisor liaises and coordinates with support functions to progress issues concerning production planning and resource/skill allocation to ensure delivery of products to schedule within all relevant quality specificationsProduction supervisor ensures that Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) are monitored and targets achievedProduction supervisor communicates with teams by utilizing visual management, delivering shift briefs with focus on quality, cost and delivery, and gathering ideas for improvementsProduction supervisor drives performance of team members giving direction and feedback to aid good performanceProduction supervisor ensures safe working practices are maintained and “Standard Operations” are adhered toProduction supervisor motivates the tam to create a high-performance culture where improvement suggestions are embracedProduction supervisor implements lean manufacturing techniques to exceed Check-Mate’s targets for productivity, efficiency and quality on a continuous basisProduction supervisor supports the implementation of engineering changes, production trials, model change and pilot buildsProduction supervisor supervises and control resources effectively to support customer delivery requirements and Lean Manufacturing principlesProduction supervisor monitors and maintains employee absencesProduction supervisor conducts performance counseling to ensure the success of the new hireProduction supervisor ensures that corrective actions are completed within three (3) business days of the occurrenceProduction supervisor deals with personnel issues on shift and takes appropriate action via corrective actions, performance improvements and/or performance reviewsProduction supervisor responsible for ensuring that operators are trained on products and processesProduction supervisor conducts incident, accident and non-conformity investigations and associated reporting and action closureProduction supervisor promotes high standards through personal example and rolls out through the team so that each member of the team understands the standards and behaviors expected of themProduction supervisor monitors team performance by completing annual performance reviewsProduction supervisor provides product expertise within the team and responds to operator queriesProduction supervisor works proactively with support function to fully define the processes/procedures/controls relevant to team activities. Production supervisor provides support and input to continuous improvement activities within the teamProduction supervisor ensures KPIs are met by working to the plan, including management of and reportingProduction supervisor liaises and communicates with other departments and ensures an effective interface is achievedMinimum RequirementsA.S. or B.S.
