Our talent specialists provide recruitment services and customized solutions to find quality candidates.Job Title: Level 4-5 Electrical ApprenticeLocation: OttawaEmployment Type: Full-TimeReports To: Licensed Journeyperson Electrician or Site SupervisorPosition OverviewOur valued member is seeking a dedicated and skilled Level 4-5 Electrical Apprentice to join their team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in residential and commercial electrical installations and maintenance. This role involves assisting licensed electricians with various tasks, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to code.Key ResponsibilitiesInstall, replace, and troubleshoot electrical components, including plugs, switches, and lighting fixtures.Assist in the installation and maintenance of electrical distribution systems in residential and commercial settings.Read and interpret blueprints, electrical diagrams, and code specifications to determine wiring layouts.Pull wire through conduits and through holes in walls and floors.Install brackets and hangers to support electrical equipment.Splice, join, and connect wires to fixtures and components to form circuits.Test continuity of circuits using test equipment to ensure compatibility and safety of system following installation, replacement, or repair.Assist in diagnosing faults in electrical and electronic systems and replace faulty components as directed.Maintain tools and equipment, ensuring they are in good working condition.Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).QualificationsCurrently registered as a Level 4 or 5 Electrical Apprentice.Completed intermediate in-school training.Valid and up-to-date certifications in Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) and Fall Arrest.Proven experience in residential and commercial electrical work.Strong understanding of the Canadian Electrical Code and safety regulations.Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and take direction from licensed electricians.Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Good physical condition and ability to perform manual labor, including lifting heavy objects and working in confined spaces.Valid driver's license with a clean driving record is an asset.Work EnvironmentWork is performed in various settings, including residential homes, commercial buildings, and construction sites.Exposure to varying weather conditions when working on outdoor projects.Use of ladders, scaffolding, and other equipment to access work areas.Adherence to safety protocols to minimize risk of injury.CompensationCompetitive hourly wage commensurate with experience and apprenticeship level.Please note that only qualified candidates will be contacted.
