Job DescriptionKey ObjectiveThis position is responsible for :-Evaluate risks and underwrite new and renewal business for the Corporate Book, Accident & Health segments in accordance with underwriting guidelines, emphasizing growth and profitability.Drive the Accident & Health new product development process from product documentation requirements, system requirements, submission for approvals both internally and externally. Assist Product Lines with marketing requirements including product launches, product design and planning. Major duties and responsibilities :-UnderwritingImplement underwriting strategies and guidelines in alignment with the company’s business plan and medium-term plan (MTP).Ensure adherence to prudent and timely underwriting service standards.Review and analyze the business portfolio from the branches, taking necessary actions to ensure profitability.Establish, develop, and maintain strong business partnerships with intermediaries, clients, and other stakeholders to secure business opportunities and achieve long-term superior underwriting results.Ensure exceptional customer service is consistently provided to both internal and external customers, in accordance with established service standards. Portfolio ManagementAssist in portfolio monitoring, identify key actions to maintain targeted financial and oversee execution of action plans. Identify specific poor performing accounts; review of acquisition expenses; review of claim reports/activity; review of portfolio by producer.Develop and maintain a monthly/ quarterly performance reports and provide insightful analysis to internal stakeholders. Product DevelopmentManaging product development entire life cycle from product idealization, concept, creation to launch, including policy documentation and marketing materials within the approved product governance framework.Work with Product Leaders and Distribution channels to develop marketing strategies and plans for product development including working with Marketing/Corporate Communications on Marketing collaterals and new product launches.Maintain proper documentation of all relevant internal/external analysis conducted and information used in the product development, pricing, and approval signoffs.Prepare product documentation for submission to PIAM and/or BNM where necessary. Market intelligenceResponsible for market research of competitors’ products and trends within the industry.Provide recommendations and input on strategic product opportunities.Maintain awareness of industry trends on regulatory compliance, emerging threats, and appropriate steps to mitigate the risks.Skills QUALIFICATIONS Good Analytical, written and communication skillsHighly driven and independentCompetent knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications and relevant knowledge in IT core system functionalities ExperienceAt least 3-5 years of working experience in general insuranceExperience in project management including involvement in the creation of new insurance products to the market QualificationsDegree in any discipline, preferably Actuarial ScienceAMII/ACII or equivalent insurance qualifications
