Job Title: AWS DevOps EngineerLocation: Calgary, AB (3x onsite a week)Employment Type: Full TimeResponsibilitiesJob Description: Support and troubleshoot various web applications in Digital portfolio. Deploy, administer, and support cloud services (primarily AWS) for internal and customer-facing applications. Collaborate with other support teams to resolve application and server issues. Participate in project delivery, deployment, and operational readiness for new and enhanced applications, following change management procedures. Identify inefficiencies and propose process improvements and automation opportunities. Manage software patching and vulnerability remediation. Build automation and self-healing mechanisms for service recovery.
Develop and maintain scripts and tools for application support and troubleshooting. Create and maintain technical support documentation. Monitor digital applications, build dashboards for uptime and availability, and set up alerts for critical business functions. Learn and understand the functionality and technology stack of each supported application. Provide after-hours on-call support. RequirementsExperience: 5–7 years in an Application Support role within a Digital or IT environment. 2+ years managing infrastructure and applications hosted in AWS. Education & CertificationsDegree or diploma in Computer Science or a related field. Relevant certifications (AWS, Microsoft, ITIL). Technical SkillsExperience with Unix, Windows, Java, C#, .
NET, HTML, ASP, IIS, Apache, Tomcat, PM2, LDAP. Scripting/programming with PowerShell or Python. Familiarity with monitoring/logging tools: Dynatrace, Splunk, CloudWatch. Understanding of SOAP and RESTful web services. Working knowledge of PostgreSQL, SQL Server, and Oracle databases. Networking concepts: Subnets, ACLs, NAT, Load Balancers. DevOps and infrastructure automation experience. Soft SkillsStrong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment. Excellent verbal, written, and technical communication skills. Strong interpersonal and leadership qualities.
