Job Description

We are looking to recruit an Academic English Language Manager, who will be leading on the design and delivery of English for Academic Purposes (EAP) provision at the University of Law (ULaw). This role sits within the Library & Learning Skills department.This is a permanent, full-time position, working remotely with occasional visits to your local UK ULaw campus. The ideal candidate will be establishing relationships with key stakeholders across ULaw in order to identify students’ needs and creating an evolving framework of provision to ensure that students with English as a second language can engage fully and independently with their programme of studyAs Our Academic English Language Manager, You WillDevelop a range of EAP live learning interventions, partnering with students, colleagues across ULaw and within LLS to determine the appropriate method of delivery within and outside the curriculum (such as workshops, one-to-ones, group and peer interventions, and embedded content)Design, develop and deliver a framework of EAP support for students with English as a second language and ensure that this is effectively promotedProvide EAP expertise and best practice guidance to key academic colleagues in relation to teaching, materials development, assessments and feedback, as requiredProduce data and reports reviewing the impact of this specialist aspect of academic skills provision within the Study Skills teamWe Are Looking For People Who Are/haveA recognised specialist qualification in English language teaching (e.g. CELTA, DELTA, TESOL, TEFL, English for Academic Practice)Experience of creating and delivering EAP support via a range of delivery methodsProven ability to facilitate active student learning and to adapt approach as neededAble to develop effective relationships with internal and external stakeholdersAble to work under pressure to deadlinesAble to work on own initiative and problem solvePlease provide your supporting statement below, which should include specific skills and experience that qualify you for this position, as well as the reason you are interested in this role.Closing date for applications is Sunday 23rd November 2025 (midnight). .Why join us?On top of a salary of £42,000, you will enjoy:We provide a generous annual leave entitlement of 30 days plus bank holidaysPrivate Medical Scheme and Life Assurance Contributory Pension Scheme Opportunity for professional development, including course sponsorship and fee discounts Season Ticket Loans and Student Discounts Be part of a diverse and inclusive communityWe are committed to ensuring our workforce is reflective of our diverse student population.
