OverviewFWI is building a team to support Puerto Rico Department of Housing (PRDOH) Communication Services program for the Community Development Block Grant for Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) and Community Development Block Grant for Mitigation (CDBG-MIT). The Account Director will serve as the lead point of contact for all client matters, managing relationships at a senior level and overseeing the overall management of communication services across traditional media, digital media, and public relations platforms.FWI has been recognized as a Top Workplace by the Washington Post in 2024 and 2025, offering excellent growth opportunities in a collaborative environment.Position is contingent upon contract award**Work Schedule and Location:Hybrid: This full-time hybrid position will work Monday through Friday,8am to 5pm, with some onsite work in San Juan, Puerto Rico.Responsibilities Operate as the lead point of contact for all matters specific to PRDOH CDBG-DR and CDBG-MIT communication services Build and maintain strong, long-lasting client relationships to provide the utmost level of client service; liaise with clients at a senior level on a day-to-day basis Oversee and assist with the overall management of client accounts as well as channel and prioritize workflow between team members Ensure operational performance of the team with all account objectives and specific schedules met or exceeded within agreed budgets Coordinate resources needed to service projects while providing the client with creative and strategic plans and ideas for executing services Determine needs, develop and execute accounts or opportunities specific to client needs Manage marketing and lead ideas presentation for client projects, complying with timeframe and budget Gather, validate, and analyze preliminary information via online research, social media platforms, networking, and other sources to seek optimization opportunities that align with client goals Prepare and present performance reports to clients with storytelling focus and strong emphasis on data visualization Build and manage plans to identify opportunities and strategies to meet and exceed client goals Work with leadership and support teams to build and execute client projects Collaborate with team counterparts across all departments to comply with project deadlines Manage, review progress, and deliver client projects ensuring quality and timeliness Conduct frequent meetings with clients and provide feedback on status of their projects Responsible for managing the work of team members and performing a range of administrative functions Assist with client portfolios and monitor their ongoing activities Keep abreast of changes and developments in marketing and communications to maintain deep understanding of client needs and maximize use of resources Develop reports and data-driven multimedia strategies as well as track client activities and projects in real-time to ensure assistance and improvement in client execution Responsible for conducting a final review of any client request to ensure it is free from errors and reflects client needs before delivering to client's point of contact Coordinate resources to comply with clients' time-sensitive requests within the timeframe as established in the Scope of Work Required Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Advertising, Business Management or Administration, Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field 7+ years of experience in account management, client services, or related field Strong industry network and contacts with senior journalists and members of the press Good understanding of industry trends, marketing strategies, and communication plans Knowledge of market research techniques, budgeting, and reporting Exceptional interpersonal skills, negotiation, leadership, critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills Excellent communication skills, empathy, presentation skills, highly organized, and keen ability for problem-solving and negotiation Ability to develop and execute account strategies specific to client needs Experience managing client portfolios and monitoring ongoing activities Excellent verbal and writing skills in both Spanish and English (bilingual required) FWI is an Equal Opportunity Employer, including disability/vets.
