To review the work of and provide guidance to the Junior Accountant(s).Main ResponsibilitiesConduct the following within prescribed deadlines:Prepare and post final bookkeeping entries required for producing financial statements and management accounts for semi-complex clientsPerform bank, investment and any other reconciliationsPrepare and review VAT returns for clientsProvide accounting support to Client Accounting staff and assist with ad-hoc projects as may be required from time to timePrepare annual financial statements in accordance with appropriate accounting standards and, management accounts from the accounting records of the semi-complex client entitiesReview the work of and provide guidance to the Junior Accountant(s) and Assistant Accountant(s) whenever required, ensuring suppliers, loans, income have been bookkept accurately in accordance to establish proceduresAbility to review simple client deliverables with the assistance of the Senior Accountant or the Assistant Manager/ManagerLiaise with the appointed Auditors to complete the audit of financial statements in accordance with defined timetablesAssist the Assistant Manager/Manager, providing daily support as requested. This will include but may not be limited toSupport the on-going development of the team through involvement in the coaching, training and motivation of team members with supervision and guidance from the Assistant Manager/ManagerEnsuring working papers and checklist for each deliverable is kept to the required standards and/or agreed upon proceduresProvide accounting service to clients in various jurisdictions within the Ocorian Group.Other ResponsibilitiesAssist with ad hoc accounting tasks or projects as and when requested.Assist with audit queries if neededAssist with Junior staffs' queriesProtect the confidentiality, integrity and availability of all information on Ocorian, its clients and employees at all times to safeguard the professional reputation of Ocorian, its employees and its clients.QualificationsACCA/ACA fully qualified and/or having first degree in accounting field or qualified by virtue of relevant experience in Finance industry and or Accounting/Auditing experienceFinance Industry and or Accounting/Auditing experience within or with exposure to the Private Clients is desirable.knowledge, skills and experience:Minimum of 4 years’ experience in preparing client accountsBasic knowledge of IFRS. Knowledge of UK GAAP and other relevant accounting frameworks is an advantageExperience with Navision, Viewpoint and ValueFinancials is desirableWell versed in Excel, Word and OutlookCompetencies:Strong technical skills in accounting fieldExcellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues at all levelsAbility to work under pressure and meet deadlinesSolid organisational skills (able to work using own initiative, control own work load and prioritise matters as appropriate)Ability to work methodically and accuratelyExcellent team playerFlexible, energetic and enthusiasticAmbitious to learn and be challengedDetailed orientedCommitted to quality and delivering on timeEffective problem solverAdditional InformationAll staff are expected to embody our core values that underpin everything that we do and that reflect the skills and behaviours we all need to be successful.
