Job descriptionAccountant – Job DescriptionPosition Title: AccountantDepartment: Finance & AccountingReports To: Finance Director / CFOJob Purpose:To oversee all accounting operations, ensure accuracy of financial reports, maintain compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements, and manage the accounting team.Key Responsibilities:Supervise and manage the accounting department, including accountants and clerks.Review and approve journal entries, reconciliations, and monthly closings.Prepare consolidated financial statements and management reports.Monitor internal controls and ensure proper accounting procedures are followed.Manage the budgeting and forecasting process.Oversee tax filings, Zakat/VAT compliance, and coordinate with auditors.Provide financial analysis and insights to support business decisions.Ensure timely submission of accurate financial data to management.Implement and improve accounting systems and policies.Coach and develop accounting staff for improved performance.Qualifications:Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.Minimum 7 years of experience in accounting, including 3+ years in a supervisory or managerial role.Professional certification preferred (CPA, CMA, or equivalent).Strong knowledge of IFRS, GAAP, and local tax regulations.Advanced skills in Excel and ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.).Excellent leadership, analytical, and communication skills.Ability to meet tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities.Core Competencies:Leadership and team managementStrategic financial planningDecision-making and problem-solvingAccuracy and attention to detailEthical judgment and confidentiality
