Job Title: Accountant & Bookkeeping Specialist About the Company Our client is an independent consultancy specializing in ICT and telecommunications technical design. The company provides technical expertise to deliver market-leading ICT infrastructure engineering solutions across EMEA. Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Accountant & Bookkeeping Specialist to oversee the company’s financial operations, reporting, and documentation processes. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of accounting principles, experience preparing and analyzing the three main financial statements, and strong knowledge of EBITDA and its implications for business performance. This position combines hands-on bookkeeping with broader financial management and reporting responsibilities, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of all financial data. Reports to: Office Manager and Group of DirectorsLocation: Remote (Home-based)Schedule: Monday to Friday, 08:30 – 17:00 US hours Key Responsibilities 1. Accounting & Financial Reporting Prepare, maintain, and reconcile general ledger accounts. Produce monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements — Balance Sheet, Income Statement, and Cash Flow Statement. Calculate and analyze EBITDA and other key financial metrics to support business decision-making. Support management with financial insights, identifying trends, variances, and cost optimization opportunities. 2. Bookkeeping & Transactions Management Record daily financial transactions in the accounting system with accuracy and timeliness. Manage Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR), ensuring proper documentation and timely payment processing. Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and vendor statements regularly. Maintain accurate and organized digital financial records for audits and month-end reporting. 3. Invoicing, Billing & Cash Flow Prepare and issue client invoices in line with contractual terms and project milestones. Track outstanding invoices and follow up on overdue payments. Maintain and update the company’s cash flow forecast, reflecting incoming and outgoing payments. Support financial planning through accurate forecasting and expense tracking. 4. Compliance & Support Assist with tax preparation, reporting, and liaison with external accountants or auditors. Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies. Provide financial data and administrative support to management as needed. Skills, Qualifications & Experience Required Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration. 3–5 years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or financial administration. Strong understanding of financial statements and EBITDA. Proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets (including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and financial formulas). Solid organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a remote environment. Preferred Experience with QuickBooks, Xero, or similar accounting systems. Exposure to project-based accounting or cost tracking. Prior experience in consultancy, engineering, or professional services.
