We’re obsessed with how it will be done.It is absolutely necessary, in order to apply, to be a European citizen or to hold a valid residence permit for Europe.Key Responsibilities:The Senior Accountant is a hands-on role, responsible for the accurate and timely execution of financial reporting for the Italian legal entity, ensuring full compliance with Italian GAAP, tax regulations, and corporate policies. This role serves as the in-house expert on Italian accounting and tax regulations, providing guidance and advice to the Group to support compliance and informed decision-making. The Senior Accountant works closely with external auditors, tax advisors, and internal stakeholders, and will be required to collaborate effectively as part of a global finance team to meet statutory deadlines, maintain strong financial controls, and support the operational and strategic needs of the business.End-to-End Accounts Payable process, including invoice processing, payment runs, and vendor reconciliationsEnd-to-End Accounts Receivable activities, including purchase order management, invoicing, posting payments, reconciling work in progress, and monitoring aged debtsPrepare and set up payment runs, record all bank transactions, and complete timely bank reconciliationsRecord company credit card transactions, perform reconciliations, manage employee credit card agreements, and issuance of cards.Coordinate with the offshore shared services centre to ensure employee expense reports are processed in line with company policy and Italian regulationsPerform month-end close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and preparation of management accountsManage the day-to-day relationship with external auditors and tax advisors, responding to information requests and coordinating deliverablesPrepare statutory audit schedules and supporting documentationSupport preparation and filing of tax returns (corporate income tax, VAT, withholding tax, etc.) in partnership with external tax advisorsAdvise on Italian accounting and tax regulations, ensuring compliance, and proactively monitor regulatory updates to inform business practicesCoordinate the preparation and signing of corporate documents, ensuring all required approvals and signatures are obtainedDevelop, maintain, and update accounting process documentation to ensure consistent and compliant execution of accounting activitiesExecute ad hoc finance projects in line with business needsExperienceDiploma or bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field3 to 5 years work experience in a finance positionFluent in English and ItalianExperience in statutory audit, review or preparation of corporate tax returns and VAT returnsProficient in Microsoft Office including advanced ExcelEffective time management to meet local statutory deadlines, month-end close, and audit schedulesExcellent communication skills in Italian and English, with the ability to liaise effectively with local authorities, auditors, and tax advisors and global colleaguesProactively identify issues, develop practical solutions, and work independentlyDemonstrates meticulous attention to detailAbility to build relationships with internal departmentsLa selezione rispetta il principio delle pari opportunità (L. 903/77)We may use artificial intelligence (AI) tools to support parts of the hiring process, such as reviewing applications, analyzing resumes, or assessing responses.
