What you'll do:As a Group Accountant based in Kuala Lumpur, you will play a central role in overseeing the preparation of consolidated financial statements for multiple entities within the organisation. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve collaborating closely with local and overseas teams to ensure timely submission of accurate reports while upholding rigorous compliance standards. You will provide valuable insights through detailed variance analysis and performance reviews that inform key business decisions. In addition to supporting budgeting and forecasting efforts, you will help maintain strong internal controls across all entities by reviewing intercompany transactions and ensuring proper reconciliations. Your involvement in audit management will see you coordinating with external auditors during statutory audits while also ensuring ongoing tax compliance. Furthermore, you will have the opportunity to support treasury functions such as cash flow monitoring at the group level. By contributing ideas for process improvements and participating in system implementations or automation projects, you will help shape more efficient finance operations throughout the organisation. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidated financial statements for all group entities with meticulous attention to detail and adherence to deadlines.Ensure full compliance with relevant accounting standards such as MFRS and IFRS by reviewing subsidiary submissions and resolving any discrepancies promptly.Deliver insightful variance analysis, trend reviews, and performance commentary to management, supporting informed decision-making at the highest level.Assist in budgeting cycles, forecasting activities, and long-term financial planning processes by providing accurate data and thoughtful analysis.Maintain robust internal controls across all entities while supporting the standardisation of accounting processes throughout the group.Review intercompany transactions thoroughly to ensure proper eliminations and reconciliations are performed accurately each period.Manage annual statutory audits for group entities by liaising effectively with external auditors and preparing required documentation.Ensure tax compliance by working closely with tax advisors on both direct and indirect tax matters affecting the group.Support treasury functions including cash flow monitoring, funding arrangements at the group level, and related finance operations tasks.Contribute actively to the implementation of new systems as well as process improvements and automation initiatives designed to enhance operational efficiency.
