Accountant

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Accountant to join the Finance Department of a leading organisation based at Dube TradePort The Accountant will partner closely with the business to ensure strong financial control and deliver accurate, timely financial results in line with internal and external reporting requirements and deadlines.Minimum RequirementsMatricBachelor of Commerce in Accounting or equivalentCIMA qualificationMinimum 3 years' experience in a similar roleAutomotive manufacturing experience will be an added advantageKey ResponsibilitiesPrepare accurate monthly management accounts for review by the Finance ManagerReconcile all general ledger accountsProcess transactions on SAP including provisions, accruals, interest, tax, salaries, clearing FEC accounts, and depreciationCollaborate cross-functionally with production, procurement, logistics, and quality teams to ensure seamless month-end processesMaintain the fixed asset registerReview supplier reconciliations and oversee payment processesOversee accounts payable and accounts receivable functionsSupport daily finance operations across the businessPrepare tax computations and VAT reconciliations for review by the Finance ManagerSubmit tax returns (VAT, Income Tax, Provisional Tax, PAYE, DWT) and compile audit schedulesSupport and co-ordinate stock counts and variance analysisCo-ordinate external audits and assist in finalising annual financial statementsSupport product costing activitiesEnsure accurate and timeous processing and submission of customer invoices and follow up on paymentsPrepare forex reports and manage recoveriesMaintain daily cash flow reporting and assist with working capital managementSupport budgeting and forecasting processesPrepare monthly budget vs actual reports and related variance analysisCompile and submit statutory and compliance reporting including BBBEE, Dube TradePort, and Stats SAWork closely with the Finance Manager to meet overall business objectivesTechnical Skills & CompetenciesStrong financial reporting expertiseWorking knowledge of forex including IFRS-aligned accounting treatmentSAP S4/Hana experience would be advantageousStrong critical thinking skills and a proactive problem-solving mindsetExcellent relationship-building and influencing skills at all levelsAbility to prioritise effectively and meet strict deadlines
