If you think you can live these values read further….We are looking for: POSITION: Junior Accountant LOCATION: Grahamstown, South Africa START DATE: ASAP STATUS: Permanent SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS ·       Qualifications: BCom Accounting. Or similar qualification. ·       A minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience, preferably in a similar industry to ours. ·       Computer literacy: Proficient in Xero and Dext. Deel (previously Payspace), Syft and other relevant Xero integrated Apps an advantage. Microsoft Office 365 product suite including advanced Excel and SARS application, efiling and e@syfile.  IMPORTANT ATTRIBUTES ·       High levels of integrity, loyal, dependable and treasure relationships. ·       Ability to work under pressure in a deadline driven environment. ·       Self-starter coupled with a positive outlook, high energy levels and fun. ·       High attention to detail, analytical, strive for excellence. ·       An excellent communicator who is articulate, consistent, confident, a good listener, charismatic, keen to interact with clients and staff, and a great team player. ·       Effective time management skills, organized, systematic as well as an ability to prioritise tasks. ·       Proven ability to work independently, use own judgement with good problem-solving skills. ·       Technologically aware, adaptive, innovative, solution orientated with a passion to make a difference to our clients. FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIESBookkeeping and Accounting ·       Monthly processing using Xero accounting software, supported by Dext, according to our standard operating procedures (“SOPS”). ·       Strive to continuously look for processing efficiencies. ·       Monthly reconciliation of balance sheets accounts, including bank accounts, debtors, and creditors reconciliations. ·       Preparation of VAT reconciliations, as well as completion and submission of VAT returns. ·       Month-end and year-end adjusting entries and journals such depreciation, interest, deferred tax, and tax. ·       Preparation of fixed asset registers, amortisation schedules and other relevant schedules. ·       Support the client with the preparation of budgets and forecasts. ·       Produce quality management accounts in Xero. Compile and maintain customised monthly client management accounts, KPI’s and dashboards supported by Spotlight or Syft. ·       Support with the drafting of Annual Financial Statements on Draftworx software. Taxation ·       Support of the Tax Team when required with the completion and submission of provisional tax and final income tax returns. Payroll ·       Monthly payroll processing supported using Deel (previously PaySpace). ·       Processing of payroll journals and completion and submission of monthly payroll related returns such as EMP201s and UI-19 declarations. ·       Completion and submission of annual payroll related returns such as EMP501s and IRP5 / IT3(a) employee tax certificates, annual Workmans Compensation returns. Cloud Accounting & Business Solutions ·       Become certified in Xero as well as other relevant Apps offered to our clients. Fully embrace and utilise Xero and Dext. ·       Become technologically aware, embrace change, and strive for innovation through the Xero integrated App marketplace. Client Services & Advisory ·       Client centric – liaising with clients and always providing excellent client service. ·       Building solid relationships with clients and becoming a trusted business partner by adding value to them and/or their businesses.              Administration ·       Always maintain accurate and up-to-date time records. ·       Travelling to clients and service providers as required.
