What We Are Looking ForThe accountant will be responsible for accurate and on time financial reporting. The incumbent will be accountable for supporting the financial department’s objectives of sound financial internal controls, compliance to all internal policies and procedures and compliance to all relevant external legislation and IFRS for various companies in the group.KEY RESPONSABILITIES:Full responsibilities for processing of day-to-day transactions and payment processing in smaller companies.Preparation of JournalsCompletion of monthly reconciliationMonthly updating of relevant TB accounts according to IFRSIdentification of risks which could have a financial implication for the company.Performance management systems contracting, development of yourself, communication.Continuous improving way of work.Ensuring adherence to Delegation of authorityAssist in the financial year-end auditAssist with updating of policies and proceduresOther ad-hoc task as directedTimely compilation and capturing of flash, monthly, quarterly, quarterly forecast packs, yearend packs on German SAP system- for various companiesIntercompany confirmationPreparation of annual financial statementsAssistance with other financial reporting tasks in various companies.Review of cost allocationsPreparation of budget and forecast for the smaller companiesCashflow management – Reports to Treasury.Administration and maintenance of relevant projects including budget control.Assisting responsible managers regarding their budgets and actual spend.Provide inputs for month end reporting, tax disclosures, budgets and forecasts.What Qualifications You Should HaveDegree in B.Com in Accounting or equivalent qualification.At least 4 years experience in the financial environment.Fully computer literate (word, Excel, PowerPoint) and knowledge of ERP systems (preferably SAP S/4 Hana).Skills And CompetenciesStrong knowledge of accounting principlesDemonstrate a willingness to be flexible, versatile in a changing work environmentGood communication and presentation skillsAbility to work independentlyStrategic thinkingInnovative and creativeFinancial managementAnalytical, reasoning and problem-solving skillsAbility to work under pressure and meet deadlinesStrong planning and administrative abilities to manage priorities and ensure accurate, timely delivery.What We Offer YouCompetitive compensation package with incentive bonus and pension fundMedical SchemesStable employer backgroundOpportunity to work on major projects within our Weapons and Ammunition DivisionExtensive Employee Assistance Program to support overall health and wellbeingCareer development and progress opportunitiesIndividual and diverse training opportunities and programs (Bursary Schemes)Subsidized canteen on site with themed days and multiple dietary optionsInnovative and dynamic working environment and cultureWork as part of a team with real purpose in what we doParticipation in (international) Rheinmetall activities and events
