Malander is seeking an experienced Annual Financial Statements (AFS) Manager to join our dynamic team. This individual will be responsible for managing the full process of annual financial statement preparation, ensuring compliance with all relevant accounting standards, and leading a high-performing team to deliver exceptional client service.Key ResponsibilitiesOversee the preparation and finalisation of annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS and other applicable reporting standardsReview and ensure the accuracy, completeness, and compliance of financial statements before client delivery or audit sign-offManage and lead a team of accountants and reviewers involved in AFS compilation and reportingPlan and allocate team resources to meet tight deadlines across multiple clientsAct as the primary point of contact for clients regarding financial reporting and audit supportImplement, maintain, and improve internal controls related to financial reporting processesProvide technical guidance and mentorship to team members on accounting and reporting issuesEnsure efficient workflow and adherence to internal processes across the AFS life cycleLiaise with auditors to facilitate smooth and timely audit processesKeep abreast of changes in accounting standards and regulatory requirementsContribute to continuous improvement initiatives to optimise quality and efficiencyIdentify and mitigate risks within the financial reporting processApply best practices in outsourced service delivery, where applicableMonitor team KPIs and contribute to performance and client satisfaction reportingRequirements and QualificationsCA(SA) designation (registered Chartered Accountant – South Africa)Completed SAICA articlesExtensive experience in preparing and reviewing AFS under IFRSProven experience managing finance or reporting teamsStrong technical accounting knowledge and attention to detailExcellent client-facing communication skillsHigh proficiency in relevant accounting software and Microsoft ExcelExperience working in a corporate finance environmentPrevious experience in an outsourcing managerial role will be advantageousAbility to lead with a hands-on approach while meeting strategic goalsStrong project and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple clients and deliverables concurrently
