SDEC culture is characterized by high customer orientation with a long-term view of relationships.Job PurposeThe purpose of this role is to support the Finance Department in ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant financial accounting and reporting. The position is responsible for preparing and analyzing accounting entries, verifying financial transactions, and maintaining comprehensive financial records. It plays a key role in processing payments, managing supplier invoices, overseeing collections, and handling payroll and petty cash activities. The role further supports monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes by preparing schedules, bank reconciliations, and journal vouchers.Main ResponsibilitiesPreparation of accounting entries by compiling and analysing account information and substantiates financial transactions by auditing of documentsAssist the Financial Controller with the day-to-day, monthly and year-end operations of the AccountingPreparation and processing of payments, recording of Local / Overseas supplier invoices by matching the supporting documents such as Purchase Order etc. and verification of Advance requestsRecording and posting of all daily collection for amounts collected by Parts Cashier and Collectors from customers through cash, cheques, bank transfers etc.Verification and processing of local cash purchases, and Petty Cash Expenses of BranchesPreparation & processing of Import/Export Letter of Credit (L/C) documents, Letter of Guarantee requests etc.Preparation of monthly schedules & Bank Reconciliation statements and processing of closing & other JVsChecking and verification of expense reports and Sales Commissions & Processing of Equipment Clearance requests and Early Settlement Discount Requests etc.Quarterly reconciliation & verification of Inventory balances with physical stock.Processing of approved adjustments for Inventory and Receivables such as Write-off etc. in the systemProcessing of monthly payrollMaintaining financial record of all company’s Assets and LiabilitiesHandling of Zakat & Withholding tax filing matters & dealing with DZIT departmentAssist with analyzing financial statements on a monthly basis and report on variancesAssist with financial and tax auditsAssist in documentation and monitoring of internal controlsHSE ResponsibilitiesAdhere to follow all company Quality, Health, Safety, And Environmental (QHSE) policies, procedures, and legal requirements.Promptly identify and report unsafe conditions, incidents, and near misses to the appropriate supervisor or QHSE team.Properly use, maintain, and store personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety tools as required by the jobAttend and actively participate in mandatory Safety inductions, HSE trainings, safety meetings, emergency drills and root cause investigations.Follow established emergency response procedures, including evacuation plans, fire response, and first aid if trained.Follow protocols to minimize environmental impact, including proper waste disposal and reporting spills or leaks.Provide suggestions to enhance Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental procedures and take responsibility and initiatives for continual improvement.Qualification & Relevant CertificationsBachelor’s degree in accounting or relevant subject (Master’s degree preferred)Knowledge, Skills & Experience8+ years accounting/finance experience, Experience in the similar industry preferred.Should have a good level of written and oral communication skills (Bilingual – English / Arabic preferred)Good IT skills (MS Office) including the spreadsheet and word processing programs, and e-mail at a proficient levelStrong understanding of accounting theoryHighly detail oriented and organized in workAbility to meet assigned deadlines / Deadline-OrientedAbility to act and operate independently with minimal daily direction from manager to accomplish objectives Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management, and external agencies to maximize performance and resultsKnowledge and ability to use applicable IT technology and systems to meet work needsProactive individual focused on system and reporting improvementsStrong Collaborative Team Skills, high energy, and excellent follow-up skillsAbility to work in a culturally diverse environment
