Visit one of our 27 locations today!Role DescriptionThis is a full-time, on-site role for an Accounting Assistant-Accounts Receivable located in Trincity Industrial Estate Macoya. The Accounting Assistant will execute the following core responsibilities: Processing accounts and incoming payments in compliance with the company policies and procedures. Performing daily financial duties, such as verifying, posting, and recording all accounts receivable data. Emailing customers’ statements by the due date and following up until payment is facilitated. Reconciling the accounts receivable ledger to ensure that all payments are accounted for and properly posted. Verifying discrepancies and resolving customer statement issues promptly.
Emailing all necessary documentation and following up with AV Knowles for non-responsive customers. Liaising with customers for bounced cheques and forwarding non-responsive customers with relevant documentation to the Fraud Squad. Sending out warning letters to customers who exceed their credit terms. Maintaining accounts receivable files and records. Submitting accounts receivable reports to management with updated notes from the system monthly.  Insurance Claims for the companies & any other item deemed receivable that may arise. Reconciliation of ALL receivable accounts – Trade (Customers), Staff Loans, Inter-co Clearing A/c (i. e.
Rebill), All Prepayment Accounts, Other Loans A/c’sAll other related duties as assigned by the Financial Accountant and Financial Controller. QualificationsA minimum of five (5) CSEC / CXC subjects, inclusive of Mathematics, English and AccountsACCA level 1 or equivalentProficiency in MS Office Suite, with an emphasis on Microsoft Excel and Word. Proficiency in Accounting Software and Bookkeeping skillsExperienceA minimum of two (2) years of experience in an accounting role/similar capacityExperience within the retail industry will be considered an asset.
