About the job:We are looking to hire an Accounting Manager who will provide a range of finance, accounting, business, and strategic advice to a variety of clients from early stage, high impact clients, to large multinational companies. Our clients are often well known in the Canadian business landscape. You will have the opportunity to work with business owners to improve their operations by implementing best practices and technology to improve not only their bottom line, but their well-being as well. Key Responsibilities:Take on a professional role as part of our client-facing teams;Examine financial and accounting records, other documents and/or observe certain processes and procedures being performed;Handle conflict resolution, managing expectations of a range of stakeholders (at varying levels of seniority), both clients and internally;Oversee and participate in the execution of day-to-day financial activities, ensuring a high level of quality, accuracy and productivity while not being afraid to roll up your sleeves; Coming up with creative and custom solutions for your clients’ financial needs, such as building a customized dashboard, management reporting or specialized tracking sheet that will enable reducing their manual workload;Assuming a coaching role that promotes staff development (Asking them what they need…and delivering with better!).As a Numbers Wizard, you will be:Preparing, reviewing and presenting month end packages for several clients and demonstrating your exceptional accounting and finance knowledge and application;Overseeing all aspects of the preparation of monthly financial reports, forecasts and annual budget submissions; and monitoring and analyzing monthly operating results against forecast and budget;Involved in financial audits and acting as liaison with internal, external and tax auditors;Responsible for government filings (Sales tax, Payroll tax, tax forms, EHT, WSIB, etc.);Reviewing and processing online payments with knowledge of full cycle AP/AR;Involved in financial audits and acting as liaison with internal, external and tax auditors;Overseeing payroll for multiple clients;Liaising with CRA/Banks and others as required; and understanding their numbers – inside out! As THE manager of the year, you will be:Providing leadership, coaching and developing team members;Overseeing a small team of do-it-all’s and becoming their biggest FAAN!Providing ongoing feedback and learning opportunities to your team;Realizing that a good manager has an even greater team! Requirements for this Role:You have at least 3-5 years of financial analysis and core accounting experience;You are comfortable and CONFIDENT owning your work and managing multiple clients at once;Excellent project management skills and ability to manage relationships at all levels within FAAN and within the client’s organization;An interest in upskilling for a digital world and technology trends, an openness to learning new tools and adapting how you work;Excellent communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills that allow you to thrive in a team environment;Demonstrate an ability to multitask in a fast-paced and changing environment;You know and use Excel like your life depended on it;You WANT to be in a company that has a start up environment and operates as a small team;CPA designation is an asset and is preferred.
