With a diverse portfolio of townhomes, luxury singles, condominiums, and commercial real estate, FLATO is dedicated to building quality homes and communities in various locations across the GTA.BookkeeperThe role in the ongoing and daily financial operations of Flato Group Inc., The Bookkeeper reports to the VP, Finance & Operations. Job SummaryThe role of Bookkeeper is to provide Management with day-to-day day strategic support overall, and in key areas such as financial, real estate and construction costs. The Bookkeeper works in conjunction with the VP, Finance and Operations and the President to ensure all aspects of financial operations are efficient, that costs are actively controlled, issues are resolved or proactively avoided. The Bookkeeper who excels in this role will be comfortable in an entrepreneurial, fast paced environment, is comfortable multi-tasking, builds relationships internally and externally that instills confidence and trust and is highly responsive to issues and looks to overcome challenges by developing win-win solutions.Essential SkillsSupervises all accounting for Flato Group Inc.Assessment of payables prior to payment (eg. Marketing, construction costs, planning and development etc.)Day to day maintaining of accounting (including but not limited to) Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Bank Reconciliation, HST tracking, reporting and claims, Payroll management (if required) including CRA requirements.Tracking and monitoring budgets (including Construction, Sales, Sales Commissions, deposits, expenses, construction expenses, marketing, planning and development costs etc.Track review and reconcile construction costs and invoices in association with the Construction Manager, Contract Manager and Project Managers.Auditing financial performance on a regular basis.Financial reporting including filing of taxes and all government remittances.Tracks and reconciles amendments or other material aspects of the Agreement of Purchase and Sale (APS) to ensure financial control.Resolves invoice discrepancies and communicate issues to VP, Finance & Operations in a timely manner.Coordinates with auditors as needed.Reconciliation of inter-company and intra-company accounts.Variance Analysis for Construction Projects. Ability to work accurately under pressure.EducationGraduate degree in accounting preferred.Experience5 + years’ experience including 3 years of bookkeeping or accounting role.Technical skillsProficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Power Point, Word, NewStar and Quickbooks. Fluent in written and verbal English. Must be eligible to work in Canada.
