Job Description
The Accounting Manager oversees all accounting operations for Ferrero Japan, ensuring compliance with local statutory requirements and Ferrero Group policies. This role is responsible for financial reporting, internal controls, and supporting business decisions with accurate and timely financial data. The Accounting Manager collaborates closely with internal teams and external partners.Manage the full spectrum of accounting operations for Ferrero Japan, ensuring compliance with local statutory requirements and Ferrero Group policiesOversee all accounting functions, including month-end and year-end closing for accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, and other relevant ledgersFormulate and implement accounting policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness, working closely with the GRC team to address control pointsEnsure timely and accurate submission of all reporting requirements and provide operational support and guidance to internal teamsLead balance sheet reviews, drive completion of general ledger reconciliations, and resolve aged items promptlyEnsure adequate insurance coverage for the company (excluding medical insurance)Manage intercompany functions, including contracts, reconciliations, and group reporting requirementsEnsure compliance with credit policy, manage credit risks, conduct periodic reviews, and recommend appropriate risk management approaches for customersSet up bank guarantees and credit insurance, resolve credit issues, and coordinate with relevant parties on outstanding invoicesLead local credit committee meetings and support requests from area and headquarters regarding credit managementSupport tax and discretionary cashflow budgeting processesLead external audits and support the timely submission of tax returns, collaborating with external consultants and the regional tax teamOversee relationships with corporate secretary, auditors, tax advisors, and other external partiesDrive simplification and continuous process improvement within the accounting functionSupervise and develop junior accounting staff, fostering a culture of learning and collaborationParticipate in ad-hoc projects and respond to requests from the Region and / or headquartersUniversity degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA Japan or equivalent preferred)Strong accounting experience, ideally in a multinational FMCG or Big 4 environmentStrong knowledge of J-GAAP, IFRS, and local tax regulationsStrong analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skillsGood cross-functional collaboration, internal and external partnership and stakeholder management skillsProactive, hands-on approach with a passion for excellence and continuous improvementPeople management experience is preferredProficiency in SAP4HANA and Microsoft Excel is requiredNative fluency in Japanese and business-level English is requiredCareers with caring built in - discover our benefits here.Ferrero began its journey in the small town of Alba in Piedmont, Italy, in 1946.
