We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Accounts Payable (AP) Team Lead to join our client's team, an industry leader in their field. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in full-cycle AP, demonstrated supervisory experience, and a proven ability to improve processes and support systems implementations. This position is situated in Edmonton, Alberta.Key Responsibilities:Lead and manage the Accounts Payable team, providing mentorship and guidance to team members.Oversee the full-cycle Accounts Payable process, including invoice processing, payment runs, expense management, reconciliation, and vendor management.Identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to streamline and optimize the AP process, ensuring efficiency and accuracy.Participate in or lead initiatives related to systems implementations, upgrades, and process automation.Monitor key performance metrics, ensuring compliance with company policies and financial controls.Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including accounting, procurement, and IT, to ensure alignment on financial processes and practices.Foster strong relationships with vendors and internal stakeholders to address inquiries, resolve discrepancies, and ensure timely payments.Provide regular reports, including AP aging reports, KPI tracking, and analysis, to management.Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations related to accounts payable.Support month-end and year-end closing processes as needed.Qualifications:A minimum of 5 years of experience in full-cycle Accounts Payable.Proven experience in a supervisory or team lead capacity, with the ability to coach and develop a team.Strong track record in process improvement and streamlining AP workflows.Experience with systems implementations or upgrades related to AP or accounting systems.Proficient in accounting software and ERP systems (specific software experience is a plus).Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.High level of integrity and attention to detail.Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field preferred but not mandatory.
