We are Hiring! AfricaPay International Ltd is looking for an Acquiring Implementation & Business Development Specialist in Algeria. The role requires a minimum of 10-15 years of proven expertise in acquiring and card payments in North Africa or similar markets. Business & Strategic ResponsibilitiesDrive the market entry strategy for the client’s acquiring business in Algeria.Identify, assess, and select potential local partners, including banks, PSPs, processors, and national switches.Design and implement the go-to-market approach, defining merchant segments, pricing structures, and commercial models.Develop comprehensive business cases for local partnerships, including revenue forecasts and investment requirements.Build and maintain strong relationships with local regulators, telecom operators, and key financial ecosystem stakeholders.Ensure strategic alignment with the client’s regional objectives and compliance with all regulatory frameworks.Technical & Implementation ResponsibilitiesCoordinate the integration of the client’s acquiring systems with local financial infrastructures, including switching, settlement, and authorization platforms.Lead API and platform integrations with partners, covering MPGS connectivity, risk management solutions, and fraud monitoring tools.Oversee merchant onboarding processes, terminal management (POS and Android devices), and enablement of e-commerce capabilities.Work closely with partners to ensure certification, compliance, and readiness for go-live.Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks across compliance, operational, and IT domains. Qualifications / Expectations Required· Strong experience in card acquiring and merchant payment systems, with solid knowledge of payment networks.· Familiar with merchant platforms, POS devices, payment gateways, and Algeria’s financial and regulatory environment.· Proven ability to lead cross-functional projects across business and IT domains.· Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills in French and English.· Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, or IT (MBA preferred).Mandatory SkillsDeep knowledge of the Algerian market or based in Algeria.Strong technical expertise in card acquiring, payment switching, and merchant settlement.Proven business acumen to establish and negotiate local partnerships.Experience managing end-to-end project implementation, from technical integration to business activation.Fluent in French and English (Arabic is a plus).10–15 years of experience in card payments, acquiring, or related project implementation.
