Among other responsibilities, you will perform rate analysis, complete rate model builds, and build and deliver reporting. Please note this role does require a certification of having passed a minimum of one actuarial exam.Your work location will be in a hybrid remote setting. You will work at Banner's Phoenix Corporate Center and in a home remote office. Residency in the Phoenix, Arizona metro area is required for this hybrid remote role. Through BPN, known nationally as an innovative leader in new health care models, insurance plans and physicians are coming together to work collaboratively to keep members in optimal health, while reducing costs.Position SummaryThis position will assist in healthcare actuarial analyses under the supervision of senior actuarial staff. The position will either have knowledge of, or will become knowledgeable in, Medicare Shared Savings Program (MSSP) Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs), Commercial ACOs, Employer Plans, Medicare Advantage Prescription Drug plans (MA-PD), Medicaid, Medical Economics, and other healthcare data analytics. The actuarial analyst will be encouraged to progress in their career development as an actuary by passing exams and obtaining credentials in the Society of Actuaries (SOA) under the Banner Actuarial Professional Development Program.Core Functions Assist in healthcare actuarial analyses under the supervision of senior actuarial staff. Assist in projections, pricing, reserving, and other analyses using tools developed in Excel, SAS, Teradata, Tableau, and other software, with the oversight and feedback from senior actuarial staff. Develop/present results of the performed analyses to senior actuarial staff and/or insurance division executives. Participate in the development of actuarial models and reports for the continued growth of the actuarial team. Provide support to actuarial staff in performing IBNR estimates, financial reporting, and rate adequacy studies. Research and compile information about healthcare regulations to support senior actuarial staff. Progress in the actuarial exam process towards becoming an Associate in the Society of Actuaries (ASA) and/or Fellow in the Society of Actuaries (FSA). Minimum QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Business, Finance, or Healthcare Administration.License/Certification: Passed at least 1 actuarial exam. Knowledge of software for data analysis; specifically, spreadsheets (e.g. MS Excel, VBA), data extraction and manipulation (e.g. SAS, Teradata, R) and data visualization (e.g. Tableau).Preferred QualificationsTwo or more years of actuarial experience in healthcare.Licenses/Certification: Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA) designation.EEO Statement:EEO/Disabled/VeteransOur organization supports a drug-free work environment.Privacy Policy:Privacy Policy
