Job Description
My client based in Galway is currently looking for a Financial Technician. If you're a detail-focused finance professional looking to contribute to the public education sector, a Galway-based education centre has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Financial Technician. This is a new, full-time position (35 hours per week) offering the opportunity to play a key role in the organisation’s financial operations, reporting, and compliance.Key Responsibilities:Accurately record financial transactions and assist in preparing monthly accounts and statutory returns (e.g. payroll, VAT).Support payroll, pensions, budgeting, and annual financial statement preparation.Manage accounts payable/receivable, including invoice processing, payments, and reconciliations.Assist in internal control reviews, compliance monitoring, and audit preparation.Collaborate across departments on budget tracking and funding drawdowns.Provide general administrative and financial support to the Centre’s operations.Key Requirements:Solid understanding of accounting principles and experience in AP/AR, payroll, and bank reconciliations.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Google Docs/Sheets; knowledge of Bright Books and Thesaurus is an advantage.Strong organisational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.Ability to meet deadlines and work both independently and as part of a team.Experience with Zoom/Teams is a plus.
