Are you interested in developing your administrative knowledge and skills within an expanding, innovative pathology/science-based laboratory which looks at the causes of cancer and effects of disease in pathological specimens?The Histopathology department is looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated Band 3 Administrative Assistant in Histopathology to join the Synnovis Histopathology administrative team at several leading national NHS Foundation Trusts. Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital, King’s College Hospital and Royal Brompton and Harefield Hospitals based in Central London, and the Princess Royal University Hospital in Orpington, Kent.The ideal candidate will be a quick learner, good team player and keen to develop their administrative and people skills through interaction with patients and fellow colleagues (both clinical and non-clinical) in support of our diagnostic service.This office-based role is a patient-focused role and will give you the job satisfaction that comes from knowing we are putting patients first. You will be assisting a group of scientists/clinicians who are experts in histology and pathology, which provides an important service for the NHS. The role will be based at the Histopathology Department at the Royal Brompton Hospital.This role supports the day-to-day running administratively of the Histopathology office. Reporting to the Histopathology Operations Manager, you will hold a variety of responsibilities to ensure the successful delivery of pathology services, in line with our corporate objectives.The Post Holder Will Help With The Day-to-day Running Of The Histopathology Office. You Will Hold a Variety Of Accountabilities. These May Include, But Are Not Limited ToProvide administrative support to the Histopathology Operations Manager in general areas of the Histology office.Liaise with the Office Manager and administrative staff on matters relating to administration and supervision of the office unit.Maintenance of the office protocols relevant to the section.Implementation of the Departmental Health and Safety procedures within the office area.Responsibility for new staff in respect of office procedures.Liaise with the Trust’s Information Technology Unit and the Cerner Pathnet Team on matters relating to the departmental computer.Liaise with the medical and technical staff on all clerical matters.Liaise with other staff within the Trust and King’s College London and other health professionals.Synnovis is a partnership between SYNLAB UK & Ireland, Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust, and King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
