Job Description

This is a great opportunity for an Administrator / Secretary to join our Development & House Building Team based in central Reading (5 minutes from Reading mainline station). Reporting into one of the partners in the Team, the successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the team with all day-to-day administration activities.The ideal candidate for this role will be confident, organised, proactive and most importantly, a team player. Strong communication skills and attention to detail are essential.The successful candidate will ideally be in the office 4 days a week although we may be able to offer some flexibility in this respectExperience/ Attributes requiredEssential Skills A minimum of 1 years commercial experience working as an Administrator/ Secretary within a legal environmentBe able to work to a high standard and to be organised and efficient whilst working under pressureComfortable liaising with clients via telephone/ email on behalf of fee earnersAbility to work unsupervised (where necessary)Excellent verbal and written communication skills with good attention to detailWorking in a busy team and have the ability to handle a busy workload and work to tight deadlinesRespond quickly and manage expectations effectivelyStrong PC/technical skills and high level of confidence using ITExcellent keyboard skills plus good knowledge of Microsoft Office PackagesDesirable Skills Previous experience of working with a property teamExperience of HMLR and SDLT Processes Work type:Preparation of correspondence, documents and completion statementsLand Registry and SDLT applicationsProof readingHandling basic finance tasks such as preparing invoices and reviewing client and office account entries.Diary and email managementDealing with telephone enquiriesAny other departmental ad hoc dutiesContractual Benefits25 days holiday (Pro rata)Pension scheme with a 4% employer contributionLife Assurance - 5 x final salaryNon contractual benefits include (Pro Rata)An additional days holiday for your birthdayA weekly Wellbeing hour8 hours per annum for charity workSeason ticket loanCycle schemeCash back medical planDiscounted retail benefitsBring your dog to workSocial committee events
